Abstract: An improved construction and method of constructing a field-bendable stud-engaging tab for electrical box supports that can be formed with less tool wear and bent in the field (for example, to conform to particular electrical box depths) with less force than previously required, and when necessary, straightened and re-bent. Scores are formed in the tab during the manufacturing process by applying shear force with a punch to the sheet metal of the tab, typically by a method in which the punch is applied to a portion of the sheet metal that rests over a cavity in the die, creating a sheared edge in each score wherein the metal is at least partially fractured, said fracture coinciding with at least part of a corresponding bend line. The bend lines also comprise unscored areas. In the field, the tab can be bent and re-bent along the bend lines.

Abstract: A device and method to be used in treating sleep apnea comprising a headband adapted by reason of its size and shape to fit around a person's head, a garment adapted to being secured to the torso portion of a person using the device consisting of a front section and a back section, a first strap affixed at an upper end to a location on the headband, a second strap affixed at an upper end to a second location on the headband, and wherein the first and second straps are affixed at their lower ends to the back section of the garment so as to provide sufficient tension in the straps to cause the person's head to be tilted backwards thereby opening the person's airway.
Abstract: A device for stabilizing traction in a zero turn mower having a riding frame, a pair of front caster-type wheels, a primary right-side rear wheel and a primary left-side rear wheel, and an asymmetric drive system to said rear wheels for driving and steering, comprising: a) auxiliary right-side and left-side rear wheels rotatably mounted on stub axles positioned rearwardly of said primary rear wheels; b) a first rigid member extending between and pivotally coupled to said auxiliary right-side rear wheel and said primary right-side rear wheel; c) a second rigid member extending between and pivotally coupled to said auxiliary left-side rear wheel and said primary left-side rear wheel; d) a first drive coupling member for driving said auxiliary right-side rear wheel in tandem with said primary right-side rear wheel; and e) a second drive coupling member for driving said auxiliary left-side rear wheel in tandem with said primary left-side rear wheel.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining and expressing the elastic moduli within a body of earthen material; the method and apparatus for processing the method follows the steps of: (a) establishing the location of the body; (b) determining the Young's Modulus E using the formula E=?Vp2; (c) determining the Shear Modulus ? using the formula ?=?Vs2; (d) determining a Bulk Modulus ? using the formula ?=?Vp2/3(1?2?) where ? equals Poisson's Ratio; and (e) selecting one or more of the determined moduli and entering such selected moduli in a data processor adapted to convert such selected moduli into a visual expression as, for example, a map of the selected moduli for the purpose of oil, gas or coal exploration, or earthquake hazard mapping.
Abstract: The invention provides a dining table including integral dishwasher units. An access cover providing access to the dishwasher is provided in the dining surface and is adapted for being recessed within portions of the dining surface while the user is dining. A perforate chute extending from below the dining surface into the dishwasher is used for placing and retrieving dishes and for storing dishes during washing. A pot washer is used to wash pots and other large utensils in a separate washer. The pot washer includes a pot washer basket which is slidably mounted on a fixed support in such a way as to be accessible through doors from either side of the table. A switch arrangement prevents the potwasher from being used except when the doors are closed. The control panel as well as compartments for condiments and the like are mounted in such a way as to be accessible to the handicapped.
Abstract: A seating assembly is made up of both fixed and positionable components. The assembly in a first position provides in a back-to-back relation respective oppositely facing seats. In a second position the assembly provides a substantially horizontal lounge a portion of which is withdrawn from a stored position below the seats. The lounge when withdrawn includes the sitting surface portion of a selected one of the oppositely facing seats as part of the lounge and when stored utilizes such sitting surface portion as part of the selected seat.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising: (a) a stationary base; (b) a drive assembly providing a drive member and means for reciprocating the drive member along a fixed linear path; (c) a femoral support extending between a first end connected to the base and a second end; (d) a tibial support extending between a first end connected to the second end of the femoral support and a second end; (e) a rigidly mounted, cantilevered femoral cradle slidably connected to the femoral support; (f) a rigidly mounted, cantilevered tibial cradle slidably connected to the tibial support; (g) a connecting member having an upper end connected to the tibial support second end and a lower end connected to the drive member; (h) a footrest structure mounted forwardly of the tibial cradle; and (i) the above elements arranged such that a person's leg is cyclically flexed and extended in response to reciprocation of said drive member.
Abstract: Compact features provide faster and more efficient gathering and storage of a sufficient reservoir of heated water to heat a shaving mirror to non-fogging temperature. The features are arranged on the vertical surfaces of the mirror to enable water to enter the reservoir over a large surface area relative to the mirror size.
Abstract: A soft oral airway comprising an elongate hollow tubular member having a proximal and a distal end, wherein the member comprises a soft flexible material and an opening at the distal end of the elongate tubular member for insertion into the mouth and pharynx of a patient with the distal end leading the member as the member is inserted into the mouth and pharynx of a patient and an enlarged tapered opening at the proximal end, wherein the enlarged opening is dimensioned to not slip down the throat of the patient and the opening at the proximal end is adapted to receive a nasal cannula.
Abstract: A three-point seat belt system adapted for use with a seat frame having a seat back and a seat bottom, wherein the system comprises: (a) retractor shoulder belt with a single first connector on its distal end, adapted to be fixedly attached at its opposite end to the underside of said seat bottom, and extending to the front side of said seat back; (b) multi-connecting lap and shoulder belt comprising: (i) seat belt webbing connected to a Y-junction; (ii) a second connector consisting of a post connector attached to one end of the Y-junction, which releasably attaches to said first connector; and (iii) a third connector consisting of a tongue connector attached to the second end of the Y-junction; and (c) a single lap belt with a fourth connector consisting of a buckle on its distal end, which releasably attaches to said third connector.
