  • Patent number: 4274556
Abstract: A one-piece housing defines a pair of laterally separated chambers for containing liquids to be dispensed. A pair of hollow filler necks extend upwardly from the top wall of the housing for communication each with a different one of the chambers for filling the latter with a liquid, and a carrying handle is secured to and extends laterally between said necks. A squeeze bulb type pump associated with each chamber has an intake pipe extending into the chamber and is removably closed by a ball check valve. A flexible outlet dispenser tube extends from the valve body and is fitted at its outer end with a check valve for allowing flow of liquid only in the outfeed direction. The ball check is moved from the closed position by partial vacuum created by expansion of the bulb following squeezing, and the ball check is closed during collapsing of the bulb as it is squeezed.

  • Patent number: 4273524
Abstract: In a molding press having fixed and movable platens for mounting mold halves, the movable platen is connected through thrust rods and a thrust plate to the movable component of an hydraulic piston-cylinder platen drive unit the fixed component of which is attached to a fixed base. A high pressure piston-cylinder mold clamping unit of the pancake type interengages the movable platen and a pancake cylinder support plate mounted for movement along the thrust rods and arranged for abutment by the thrust plate. The pancake cylinder support plate and fixed base are joined together by toggle joints operated by a piston-cylinder locking unit supported pivotally on arms extending pivotally from the pancake cylinder support plate and fixed base. The drive unit thus is arranged in parallel with the series arrangement of the toggle joints and mold clamping unit.

  • Patent number: 4257154
Abstract: The bead area of a pneumatic tire is vented of trapped air by inserting an air guide into the bead area from the outer side of the tire adjacent the tire wheel rim area, whereby the trapped air is guided from the bead area along the air guide to the outer side of the tire. The air guide is an elongated flexible member provided with an enlarged head at its inner end. It is inserted into the tire by an elongated hollow shaft provided with an exterior spiral screw thread. The air guide is inserted into the hollow bore of the shaft, with the enlarged head of the guide abutting one end of the shaft. The opposite end of the shaft is secured to the chuck of a conventional low speed reversible electric drill. The enlarged head of the air guide is provided with a plurality of spaced, outwardly projecting stops which serve to prevent retraction of the head and air guide from the tire.

  • Patent number: 4241249
Abstract: The thumb wheel rotary shaft of an electric lamp socket switch is connected detachably to the first of a pair of rotary clutch members the second of which is connected to a pull chain for rotation in one direction against the resilient resistance of a spring. Releasable coupling between the clutch members operates to connect them together for simultaneous rotation when the second clutch member is rotated by the pull chain. The clutch members and inner portion of the length of pull chain are contained within a housing which is pivotable about the axis of the clutch members, and a pair of stop members on the housing are arranged to engage the second clutch member to establish the limits of its rotation between retracted and extended positions of the pull chain.

  • Patent number: 4217990
Abstract: A pair of elongated clamp blocks are joined together in laterally spaced, parallel relationship by means of a pair of vertically spaced clamp screws which serve to move the blocks toward and away from each other. Each clamp block is provided with a transverse slot extending longitudinally inward from one end thereof at an oblique angle with respect to the screws. The blocks are disposed adjacent the outer side of a tank with the slots extending angularly outward away from each other. An elongated flat strap is looped about the tank and each end portion thereof is threaded outwardly through the slot in the associated clamp block, then is bent inwardly around the inner portion of the block facing the other block of the pair, and the terminal portion of the strap end is doubled back between the looped portion of the strap and the outer surface of the tank. The screws then are rotated to draw the clamp blocks toward each other, whereby to tighten the strap about the periphery of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4214995
Abstract: An ozone generator comprises a plurality of inner tubular electrodes each of which has a multiplicity of outwardly extending dimpled projections and each of which is configured for a sliding fit within a dielectric carrier sleeve. An outer tubular electrode is mounted coaxially over each carrier sleeve by means of non-conductive spacers and forms an annular air passageway between each outer electrode and sleeve. The assemblies are mounted longitudinally in an enclosed cylindrical housing by means of an air barrier which surrounds the outer electrodes and divides the housing into upper and lower compartments so that pressurized air which is introduced through an air inlet into the lower compartment passes upwardly through the passageways to the upper compartment where it exits the housing through an ozone outlet. Electrical conductors connect the pairs of inner and outer electrodes in parallel across a source of high voltage remote from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4213061
Abstract: A bi-directional silicon controlled rectifier forms an electric switch arranged to be connected in an alternating current supply circuit in series with an electric load to be controlled. The gate electrode of the silicon controlled rectifier is connected across the alternating current supply through the input of a full wave rectifier the output of which is connected across a unidirectional silicon controlled rectifier and the gate electrode of which is connected to the output of an oscillator which is controlled by the positive output pulses of a bistable multivibrator. The multivibrator is activated to each of its states by an electric trigger pulse which is generated when a person touches an electrically conductive proximity member connected to one plate of a capacitor, the other plate of which is connected through pulse shaping circuitry to the multivibrator. The output of the rectifier also supplies direct current for operation of the oscillator, multivibrator, proximity plate and shaper circuitry.

  • Patent number: 4196760
Abstract: A machine for making wood moldings includes an endless feed belt extending downstream from the upper face cutter head for holding short lengths of wood pieces securely between the working stretch of the feed belt and the underlying bed plate and delivering it through side and lower face cutter heads. An air plenum container overlies and bears against the working stretch of the feed belt to provide uniform feed pressure to the wood throughout the length of the working stretch and delivers air under pressure through a multiplicity of holes in the plenum container to the confronting side of the working stretch of the belt for minimizing friction between the belt and container. Short lengths of wood pieces are delivered in spaced-apart relationship to the upper face cutter head between an elongated side feed belt and an elongated air fence.
