Abstract: The polymer buildup problem that may occur in the reactor where the inversion polymerization of vinylchloride is conducted can be effectively ameliorated by way of coating the internal surfaces of the reactor with a mixture comprising an expanding lattice clay, e.g., veegum, and a water-soluble suspending agent, e.g., polyacrylic acid.
Abstract: A power steering apparatus in which a housing to contain a torque sensor for sensing seering torque, a small-sized motor for assisting steering, and a driving device for transmitting driving force of the motor to the steering shaft is made small-sized and disposed on the middle part of the steering shaft in the cab of the car, and, further, pressure angles of rack teeth engaging with a pinion shaft connected to the steering shaft reduce with the advance from the center of the toothed part of the rack to the end thereof so that steering assisting power is increased with the increase in the degree of steering angle.
Abstract: A protective screen formed of a frame and a series of woven, non-metallic fibers. The screen is fitted over a display surface of a cathode ray tube (CRT) to reduce glare and/or to diffuse emanated radiation and static electricity. The frame includes outer non-metallic frame ports and a rigidifying metallic inner frame part.
Abstract: A respirator with an improved exhaust valve and a flexible face piece which conforms to the shape of the face of the wearer. The respirator is compact and principally formed of transparent material to minimize attention to the wearer.
Abstract: An adhesive binding machine which is for gluing the covers to the collated pages of the books and which includes a cutter for trimming the edges of the pages, a glue pot for applying glue to the cut edges, a nipper for pressing a cover to the glued edges of the pages and pinching it around the pages.
Abstract: An improvement to an instrument calibration block, which includes an arm member pivotally connected to the calibration block. The arm member when in its operative position positions the instrument to be tested so as to provide for a highly accurate calibration.
Abstract: A tiller head for a soil tilling device including a shaft which carries a number of blades which rotate with the shaft, and a drive for causing rotation of the shaft. A housing surrounds the drive. At least one of the blades is mounted for oscillatory movement where its ends shift laterally relative to the shaft. A camming device is carried by the housing and protrudes into the plane of rotation of the blade. The blade contacts the cam upon rotation of the shaft to urge the ends of the blade sequentially under the housing, thus tilling the soil under the housing.
Abstract: A storage facility, such as a file or bookcase, which includes spaced parallel end plates supporting a brace part therebetween. A flexible cover extends between and is supported by the end plates so as to be rotatable entirely about the brace part.
Abstract: A splint for a hind leg of an animal such as a dog or cat. The splint is shaped to conform to the normal shape of the hind leg of an animal and serves to sustain the weight of the animal while walking without imposing stress upon the leg in the region of the break.
Abstract: A safety receptacle including a tank and a lid therefor. The lid is shiftable between its open and closed positions by a linkage system connected to the lid by a linkage connector. The linkage system includes a member which overlies the lid and is connected to the linkage connector by a heat sensitive actuator which releases the linkage connector when the lid is open in the presence of fire thereby allowing the lid to close by its own weight.
Abstract: A motor utilizing compressed air as the working fluid. Compressed air circulates from a first or high pressure tank through an air reactance member, then to pressure regulating member and to a second or intermediate pressure tank and the air reactance member. The drive shaft of the air reactance member delivers mechanical power. An air compressor is driven from the drive shaft and is employed to recharge or supplement pressure in each tank.

Abstract: A steering and suspension system for the front wheel of a three-wheeled vehicle in which a pair of suspension frames pivotally support the front wheel and are in turn pivotally supported for variable movement upon rotation of the vehicle's steering wheel.
Abstract: An adjustable, tilting vehicle bed which is power actuated and is capable of having its position selectively altered between positions in which it is flat, raised, tilted for dumping a load and tilted to provide a loading ramp.
