Abstract: A rotor assembly or other rotating device having a stack of laminations or laminates that are chemically bonded together. Chemical bond of the laminates may have a strength that approaches the strength of the material of metal laminates. Chemical bonds may be effective in holding the laminates at temperatures when subject to rigorous mechanical operations such as high rotation speed and vibration.

Abstract: A method for consolidating sand around a well, involving injecting hot water or steam through well casing perforations in to create a cement-like area around the perforation of sufficient rigidity to prevent sand from flowing into and obstructing the well. The cement area has several wormholes that provide fluid passageways between the well and the formation, while still inhibiting sand inflow.

Abstract: Golf ball compositions for use in ball covers and intermediate layers incorporate a specified block copolymer and are essentially free of ionomeric material. The compositions are outside the scope of those previously considered suitable for use in ball covers and intermediate layers. When used in ball covers, the composition provides for improved ball performance with respect to spin rate, feel, and durability. When used in ball intermediate layers, the composition provides for improved ball performance with respect to spin rate and distance. Also, a method for making a golf ball includes preparing a composition essentially free of ionomeric material including the specified block copolymer, and then incorporating the composition into a golf ball.
Abstract: A golf ball core incorporates a cobalt-catalyzed polybutadiene rubber falling within particular specifications for various material values. The material allows for manufacture of a core having a desirable coefficient of restitution and compression properties, while also exhibiting ease of processing. The core also can incorporate a high-cis content, high viscosity polybutadiene rubber to further enhance its coefficient of restitution and compression properties, while maintaining good ease of processing.
