  • Patent number: 6217284
Abstract: An oscillating fluid flow motor and a fluid flow power system that converts the energy in the flowing fluid to mechanical energy through a vane that automatically sweeps back and forth across the flow. In one embodiment of the oscillating fluid flow motor, the motor includes (1) a support structure, (2) an elongated swing arm pivotably and rotatably mounted to the support structure, (3) a vane having a concave face, (4) an elastic link operatively coupled in tension between the swing arm and a support, and (5) a direction control mechanism operatively coupled to the swing arm. The vane is connected to the swing arm so that, upon rotation of the swing arm about its longitudinal axis, the orientation of the concave face of the vane changes relative to the flow of a fluid confronting the face. The direction control mechanism is operative to selectively re-orient the face of the vane at each of two points that define the ends of the bidirectional stroke of the swing arm.

  • Patent number: 6211007
Abstract: A process for enhancing refresh in Dynamic Random Access Memories wherein n-type impurities are implanted into the capacitor buried contact after formation of the access transistor components. The process comprises forming a gate insulating layer on a substrate and a transistor gate electrode on the gate insulating layer. First and second transistor source/drain regions are formed on the substrate adjacent to opposite sides of the gate electrodes. N-type impurities, preferably phosphorous atoms, are then implanted into the first source/drain region which will serve as the capacitor buried contact.

  • Patent number: 6204093
Abstract: The invention is directed to the application of viscous materials, such as the adhesives used in LOC die attach processes, to a lead frame by forming a film of viscous material and then bringing a portion of the lead frame and the film of viscous material into contact with one another. In one exemplary embodiment of the method of the invention, the viscous material is drop dispensed, sprayed, pumped or otherwise placed on a carrier surface, the material is spread to a uniform film thickness and then brought into contact with the die attach portion of the lead frame. One embodiment of the apparatus for applying the viscous material includes (1) a carrier surface, (2) a plurality of orifices in fluid communication with the carrier surface, and (3) a pump for pumping the viscous material through the orifices to the carrier surface. The apparatus may also include a metering blade for spreading the material to a uniform film thickness over the carrier surface.

  • Patent number: 6113147
Abstract: While leaving the spelling of words intact the sequence of words on ever other line of print text is reversed. The reader reads the first line of text from left to right. When finished with the first line the reader drops her/his eyes directly below to the `beginning` of the second line and reads the words on the second line right to left. When finished with the second line the reader again drops her/his eyes directly below to the `beginning` of the third line and reads this line left to right. The reader continues reading alternately lines of text right to left, left to right until reaching a major break in the composition when the process is begun anew.

  • Patent number: 6112840
Abstract: A motor driven or pedal powered snow vehicle designed to emulate the steering and balancing characteristics of motorcycles and bicycles. The snow vehicle includes a frame, a swing arm, a track carriage, an endless loop track, a snow compacting ramp, an elongated steering member and a ski. The swing arm pivots upon the frame and angles downward behind the frame. The track circulates a fixed path around the track carriage. The track carriage extends forward from a pivot connection with the rear of the swing arm, and pivots vertically under the swing arm in scissors-fashion. The snow vehicle is suspended upon the track carriage using a single shock absorber and load-distributing bell crank. A snow compacting ramp attached to the track carriage compresses the snow ahead of the track. The steering member is like the front suspension fork of a motorcycle or bicycle, and is connected to the frame so that it rotates about a steering axis. The ski is mounted to the lower portion of the steering member.
