Abstract: A portable display apparatus is disclosed, which includes a flexible frame and a tensioned fabric having a perimeter hem, such that the tensioned fabric is maintained by the flexible frame and integrated with the perimeter hem in order for the tensioned fabric to expand with the flexible frame to produce a display area and reduce with the flexible frame for ease of transport.
Abstract: A portable and compact grill apparatus can be implemented in the form of free standing portable propane fueled cooking device, which utilizes one or more legs (e.g., four legs) to support the cooking surface. The device permits a standard propane tank to fit between the legs and directly under the cooking surface. The design permits one of the legs to be removed (by rotating it away from the center) to accommodate the exchange of the propane unit (required for refill of fuel). This design creates a very compact unit due to the fact that the fuel tank, burner and cooking surface all fit in a vertical column thus requiring minimal space.
Abstract: A user can be challenged to provide at least one randomly selected biometric attribute. The randomly selected biometric attribute input by the user is automatically compared to a plurality of biometric attributes of the user contained in a user profile. The user can then be authenticated if the randomly selected biometric attribute input by the user matches at least one of the plurality of biometric attributes of the user contained in the user profile. Biometric attributes analyzed according to the methods and systems of the present invention, include, but are not limited to, for example, fingerprints, iris, retina, and/or tissue characteristics, such as skin morphology, skin layer thickness, collage density and orientation, tissue hydration, optical patent length differences, etc.

Abstract: A document can contain multiple print layers. Different layers can be combined to produce different document versions. In this manner, a document can have an English version and a Spanish version that share graphics layers but have different text layers. A document's different layers can be difficult to track and the difficulty can lead to errors in document proofing and production. A discrimination module can automatically classify layers as common, graphics, and text containing. The text containing layers can be further grouped by native language. The layer groups can then be automatically combined to produce the desired document version specifications that can be rendered as document versions.
Abstract: A Criss-Cross harness system with a single strap mechanism that can be threaded through guides formed along a seat to allow restraint of an infant in a seat. The strap can be held behind the seat by a quick release mechanism that can also be disengaged by pressing a single button or squeezing two handles/paddles together. When a passenger attempts to pull on the strap to remove the area of the body held down, the entire strap mechanism gets re-tightened, thereby holding the securely in the seat. The Criss-Cross harness system can be used with a high chair, a stroller, a swing, a race car, airplane cockpit, amusement park ride, wheel chair.
Abstract: A new and convenient methodology for proving the correctness of multiplier and multiply-accumulate circuit designs in a full custom design flow. Such an approach utilizes a basic description of the implemented algorithm, which is created in early phases of the design flow and requires only little extra work for the designer who spends most of the time in full-custom optimizations. Such an approach also defines arithmetic circuit at the arithmetic bit level and allows for the generation of a gate level netlist. Given a structural similarity between the specification and design under verification, a large amount of structural similarity between the generated netlists is obtained so that a standard equivalence checker can be utilized to verify the design against the specification.

Abstract: Methods and systems in an image processing device for controlling colors that are located external to a gamut are disclosed. A plurality of color values can be automatically provided as input to said image processing device, wherein said image processing device is under a control of a particular dimensional order, typically a three-dimensional order, but alternatively can be a two-dimensional order. Next, an operation can be performed dynamically determining which color value among the plurality of color values has attained a gamut limit. Thereafter, the particular dimensional order can be automatically reduced, thereby providing improved control for colors that are located external to said gamut. The plurality of color values analyzed is generally associated with three colors—cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Abstract: Broadcast methods and systems for simultaneously transmitting, processing and selectively displaying more than one video camera perspectives recorded at live entertainment venues on remote video monitors. Video recording can be from more than one entertainment venue or can be more than on synchronized video camera perspective of an activity at an entertainment venue. Remote video monitors can be venue-based hand held devices or video monitors used at home. Remote video monitors can include hand held devices and high definition televisions (e.g., HDTVs) including flat panel display screens therein. Within a venue, camera views can be processed and formatted for display on display screens associated with remote video monitor. A user can select from more than one view from video cameras that the user wants displayed on the remote viewer, enabling a user of the remote video monitor to view more than one camera view through the remote viewer at a time/simultaneously.
Abstract: A document can contain multiple print layers. Different layers can be combined to produce different document versions. In this manner, a document can have an English version and a Spanish version sharing graphics layers but having different text layers. A document version specification can be used for producing a certain version of the document. Some documents, however, have many layers and desired layer combinations. A set of document version specifications can be used to ensure that all the desired versions are produced without any version being forgotten or any undesired version being produced. Dividing the layers amongst a set of layer groups helps in creating the specifications. A set of rules can be submitted to a rule module to automatically generate the desired specifications.
Abstract: A FFAG is a particle accelerator having turning magnets with a linear field gradient for confinement and a large edge angle to compensate for acceleration. FODO cells contain focus magnets and defocus magnets that are specified by a number of parameters. A set of seven equations, called the FFAG equations relate the parameters to one another. A set of constraints, call the FFAG constraints, constrain the FFAG equations. Selecting a few parameters, such as injection momentum, extraction momentum, and drift distance reduces the number of unknown parameters to seven. Seven equations with seven unknowns can be solved to yield the values for all the parameters and to thereby fully specify a FFAG.
Abstract: A gaming device for enhancing sporting event on television including an assembled unit loaded with a number of pins/flags and a remote control through which the unit receives radio/infrared signals in order to actuate the device. A right arm of the figurine is connected to a stepper motor and can be placed on top of the assembled unit. When the user depresses the button on the remote control the stepper motor makes one revolution and the hand portion of the arm makes contact with the pin/flag and ejects the pin/flag out of the assembled unit in order to signal rule infractions associated with a game. The device simply gives users the satisfaction of calling their own penalties, and or counts the number of actual penalties in the game.
Abstract: An atomic magnetometer that simultaneously achieves high sensitivity, simple fabrication and small size. This design is based on a diverging (or converging) beam of light that passes through an alkali atom vapor cell and that contains a distribution of beam propagation vectors. The existence of more than one propagation direction permits longitudinal optical pumping of atomic system and simultaneous detection of the transverse atomic polarization. The design could be implemented with a micro machined alkali vapor cell and light from a single semiconductor laser. A small modification to the cell contents and excitation geometry allows for use as a gyroscope.

Abstract: A system generating electrical power from wind includes a cowling to capture wind and directs it into a tubular housing. At least one fixed helical vane can be integrated into the inner surfaces of the tubular housing in a spiral, adapted to further direct the captured wind into a spiraled air flow and focus the wind directly onto electrical generator fan blades located near an exhaust of the system. A generator cone can be mounted at the front of the generator or fan blades facing air passing through the tubular housing. As air passes over the generator cone it can experience compression between the generator cone and housing resulting in increased pressure and velocity of the air, thereby increasing rotational speed of the generator blades and generator as the compressed air passes through the blades and exits the system's exhaust. The system can be used for fixed or mobile applications.

Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically identifying storage array modifications thereof. An interface device associated with a data-processing system and a storage array thereof can be automatically monitored in order to identify one or more command completion events associated with the interface device. Data indicative of the status of the interface device can then be automatically compiled in response to identifying the command completion even(s) as a result of automatically monitoring the interface device. Data indicating that the storage array has been modified can thereafter be generated if the data indicative of a status of the interface device is equivalent to a particular value.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and systems for detecting charged particles and obtaining tomography of a volume by measuring charged particles including measuring the momentum of a charged particle passing through a charged particle detector. Sets of position sensitive detectors measure scattering of the charged particle. The position sensitive detectors having sufficient mass to cause the charged particle passing through the position sensitive detectors to scatter in the position sensitive detectors. A controller can be adapted and arranged to receive scattering measurements of the charged particle from the charged particle detector, determine at least one trajectory of the charged particle from the measured scattering; and determine at least one momentum measurement of the charged particle from the at least one trajectory. The charged particle can be a cosmic ray-produced charged particle, such as a cosmic ray-produced muon. The position sensitive detectors can be drift cells, such as gas-filled drift tubes.

Abstract: A method and system for wirelessly providing venue-based data to one or more hand held devices. Venue-based data can be acquired from one or more venues. The venue-based data can be authenticated and wirelessly transmitted to one or more hand held devices through one or more wireless telecommunications networks, in response to authenticating the venue-based data and/or the hand held device(s) and/or a user of the hand held device(s), in order to permit the venue-based data to be accessible via one or more hand held devices at locations remote from the venue(s).
Abstract: A physical neural network synapse chip and a method for forming such a synapse chip. The synapse chip can be configured to include an input layer comprising a plurality of input electrodes and an output layer comprising a plurality of output electrodes, such that the output electrodes are located perpendicular to the input electrodes. A gap is generally formed between the input layer and the output layer. A solution can then be provided which is prepared from a plurality of nanoconductors and a dielectric solvent. The solution is located within the gap, such that an electric field is applied across the gap from the input layer to the output layer to form nanoconnections of a physical neural network implemented by the synapse chip. Such a gap can thus be configured as an electrode gap. The input electrodes can be configured as an array of input electrodes, while the output electrodes can be configured as an array of output electrodes.
Abstract: A system for providing stand-off biometric verification of a driver of a vehicle while the vehicle is moving and/or a person on foot at a control gate, including an RFID vehicle tag reader, an RFID personal smart card reader and a facial detection and recognition (verification) system.
