  • Patent number: 7015406
Abstract: An electric contact comprises a main body consisting of a copper-based alloy or of stainless steel and a contact layer consisting of a gold-based alloy. The contact layer has a thickness of at least 0.3 ?m and consists of gold with a content of 0.5 percent by weight to 15 percent by weight of one or more platinum group metals, and that an intermediate layer consisting of silver or of a silver-based alloy or of nickel is provided between the main body and the contact layer. The contact layer is preferably applied on the main body by a PVD process.

  • Patent number: 6980625
Abstract: The present invention concerns x-ray sources for mammography. A microfocused x-ray source of small size (30 ?m and smaller) with x-ray spectrum optimized for enhanced mammography is obtained with a method and system according to the invention. The proposed x-ray source is based on the use of plasmas created by the energy distribution of suprathermal electrons that are produced during the interaction of the laser beam with a solid target. These hot electrons penetrate the surface layer of cold plasma and interact with the solid core of the target. The method and system according to the present invention allows optimizing the x-ray source size, its spectral distribution, and the conversion efficiency in the 17.3-28.5 keV range (adapted to the breast thickness).

  • Patent number: 6957589
Abstract: The present invention provides a temperature compensator for a torque sensor, including a pair of coils, which are connected to an AC power supply circuit via transistors and in which inductances change in opposite directions depending on torque, and a torque detecting means which obtains a voltage difference between a first voltage and a second voltage output via smoothing circuits based on changes in inductance of each pair of coils, and outputs as a torque detection voltage, the temperature compensator having a correcting voltage extracting means for extracting a voltage between terminals of a transistor in the AC power supply circuit as a temperature correcting voltage, and a correcting means for correcting the torque detection voltage based on a temperature correcting voltage Vs extracted by the correcting voltage extracting means.

  • Patent number: 6933637
Abstract: An electric motor is disclosed in which a rising wall is formed in a rear side of a terminal insertion hole in a brush holder, a terminal elastically deforms with respect to an upper surface of the rising wall so as to get over the rising wall, thereby being inserted into the terminal insertion hole, and a bent base end portion of the terminal is abutted against the rising wall so as to be prevented from coming off, an elastic deforming performance regulating portion is provided in the terminal.
