Abstract: A driving circuit for driving an electroluminescent lamp is disclosed. The driving circuit includes an alternating current (AC) voltage generator for providing at an output an AC output voltage waveform for driving an electroluminescent lamp and a controller for controlling the phase and polarity of the AC output voltage waveform. The controller is operable to reverse the phase and polarity of the AC output voltage. In one embodiment, the AC voltage generator includes a transformer.

Abstract: A bearing manufacturing method for a compressor is disclosed. Since an oxide-coated layer is formed at the surface of the bearing and electrolized in a tiomolybedenic acid ammonium aqueous solution so that the molybedene emulsion can be infiltrated in the fine pores of the oxide-coated layer. Accordingly, the abrasion resistance of the bearing can be increased while the friction coefficient is remarkably reduced, and thus, a reliability of the compressor and an energy efficiency can be increased.
Abstract: A precision-rolling process for producing rolled stock in bar or wire form while maintaining tight shape and size tolerances is characterized, for the purpose of providing good accessibility to the roll stands, by the combination of the following features: rolling of the stock in at least one two-high roll stand with an open pass, starting from any desired cross section, to form rolled stock which is polygonal, in particular tetragonal, in cross section, guiding the rolled stock over a predetermined distance along one or more longitudinal edges and/or along those surfaces of the rolled stock which adjoin longitudinal edges, to a further roll stand, and subsequent rolling to form rolled stock which is circular in cross section in at least one closed pass, in which rolling forces act on and deform the rolling stock in a star shape from at least three directions.
Abstract: A piezoelectric element includes an internal electrode embedded in a piezoelectric ceramic body so as to extend in a longitudinal direction of the body. First to third surface electrodes are formed on upper and lower surfaces of the piezoelectric ceramic body in respective first to third portions along the longitudinal direction. Connecting electrodes are formed to connect the first to third surface electrodes with each other. The first to third portions are polarized so that the second portion is polarized opposite to the polarization of the first and third portions, and regions located above and below the internal electrode are polarized in opposite directions in the respective ones of the first to third portions.

Abstract: A hands-free telephone set which is connected to both an analog cellular scheme line and a digital cellular scheme line includes first and second FIR filters. The first FIR filter is connected to a transmission path in an analog line connection state to cancel an acoustic echo generated when reception speech leaks to the transmission path. The second FIR filter is connected to a reception path in the analog line connection state, disconnected from the reception path, and cascaded to the first FIR filter in a digital line connection state. The second FIR filter constitutes a line echo canceler for canceling a line echo generated when transmission speech leaks to the reception path. In the digital line connection state, the cascaded first and second FIR filters constitute an acoustic echo canceler for canceling an acoustic echo generated when reception speech leaks to the transmission path.
