    Abstract: A method for the direct manufacture of aerospace duct elements is provided comprising executing a single build run on a build chamber using direct fabrication technology to generate at least one duct section. The at least one duct section is generated by forming a plurality of partial cylinder duct segments orientated within the build chamber in a nested arrangement during the single build run, and assembling at least two of the partial cylinder duct segments to form the duct section. During the single build run a plurality of stiffening protrusions are formed on each of the partial cylinder duct segments to improve duct rigidity and to modify flow through the duct section.

    Abstract: An aircraft stringer lay-up assembly is provided comprising a first mandrel element having a first mandrel material with a first mandrel coefficient of thermal expansion. A composite ply assembly is laid up onto the first mandrel element to generate a primary lay-up surface. The composite ply assembly comprises a first primary fold-over portion folded onto to the first mandrel right end surface. A second primary fold over portion folds over to the first mandrel left end surface. The first mandrel coefficient of thermal expansion is adapted such that the first mandrel is movable between a first mandrel normal condition and a first mandrel heated condition where the first mandrel right end surface and the first mandrel left end surface move away from each other. The first primary fold-over portion and the secondary primary fold over portion are thereby moved such that wrinkles are pulled out of said primary lay-up surface.

Separate range servers and tracking servers are instantiated for each ground station and return data specific to the ground station. The spacecraft emulation system determines ranging and tracking data for the plurality of simulated ground stations but supplies the data on a ground station by ground station basis.     Abstract: The “discrete frequency stir” (DFS) method provides improved mode stir testing of electromagnetic characteristics of an enclosure/cavity. Adequate sampling of the electric field inside the enclosure/cavity is provided by electronic perturbation or “stirring” of the field with a short duration, continuous wave, radiated source where the wave frequency is stepped in small steps across a frequency range of interest. The frequency steps are selected to be at least slightly larger than the resonant mode bandwidth associated with the given enclosure/cavity in order to provide statistically independent measurements. A stirring bandwidth is selected to encompass a statistically significant number of these measurement samples while maintaining adequate frequency resolution. A statistical evaluation of the measured field is then performed over this stirring bandwidth.
