  • Patent number: 7108229
Abstract: An arrangement and a method are proposed for the generation of water on board an aircraft with the use of one or more fuel cells, whereby low-temperature fuel cells are provided as fuel cells. It is proposed that several single-cell or few-cell fuel cells may form a fuel-cell panel or cell array and several cell panels or cell arrays may be arranged close to the inside of the aircraft fuselage and the cathode side of the at least one fuel cell has a chamber pointing to the exterior of the aircraft for the condensation of the water contained in the air and the anode side has a chamber carrying a combustion gas, for example hydrogen. With the proposed solution, a reduction in the storage capacity for drinking water and its quality-assured provision may be enabled and moreover, with the use of fuel cells as a virtual power station, the energy demand on engine generators, auxiliary power unit (APU) or ram air turbine (RAT) may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6359529
Abstract: The invention provides a filtering device of the transmission-reception switched type which can be constructed in a form with a reduced size at a low cost without having to use circuit elements such as a capacitor, a coil, and a transmission line forming a phase shift circuit which are not essential to the filtering device. Inner conductors serving as distributed-parameter resonance lines are formed in a dielectric block. There is provided a coupling line coupled with particular inner conductors. The open-circuited ends of these particular inner conductors are connected to an outer conductor via corresponding diode switches so that transmission and reception filters are switched from each other when either diode switch is selectively turned on.

  • Patent number: 5815504
Abstract: A signal processor comprises a first circuit for extracting a PDH (plesiochronous digital hierarchy) signal from an incoming SDH (synchronous digital hierarchy) signal and a second circuit for adding an overhead to an incoming pure SDH signal to produce a synchronous transport module (STM) output signal. The output of the first circuit is selected when the incoming signal contains the PDH signal and the output of the second circuit is selected when the pure SDH signal is received. A local oscillator produces a first clock signal when the incoming signal contains the PDH signal or a second clock signal when the pure SDH signal is received. A read/write circuit is provided for storing the selected signal into a buffer at a first rate and reading the stored signal from the buffer at a second rate. The difference between the first and second rates is detected by a comparator.

  • Patent number: 4597321
Abstract: A rotary valve assembly for an internal combustion engine, the rotary valve assembly has a split housing which provides a cylindrical passage within which a valve rotor is located, surrounding the valve rotor is a sealing sleeve which is biased into sealing contact with the valve rotor by means of the split housing, and the split housing is sealingly connected to a head of an internal combustion engine by means of an annular seal having a V-shaped transverse longitudinal cross section.
