  • Patent number: 7100807
Abstract: A pinch-grip hanger includes an elongated body with at least one pinch-grip positioned along the body. A pinch-grip has two opposed legs that meet at a pivot axis and the ends of the legs are movable about the pivot axis. At least one of the two opposed legs has a gripping tooth located on the lower end of the legs. A biasing force is exerted on the two opposed legs by a biasing mechanism. Pinching the upper ends of the front leg rearwardly overcomes the biasing force and separates the lower ends of the legs, thereby opening the pinch-grip.

  • Patent number: 4889122
Abstract: An ultrasound hyperthermia unit for the treatment of a target tissue, includes an ultrasound transducer array (1) angled to direct sonic energy toward a target (8), wherein the array (1) comprises a plurality of divergent transducers (2) arranged radially of a central axis to provide a coherent treatment field about a central axis.Temperature sensing means (10) may be operatively associated with the array and adapted to provide an output signal indicative of temperature values adjacent a target tumour, said signal being utilized to control the output of the transducers.A liquid bath (5) may be provided for being located between the array (1) and the skin (14) of a patient, said liquid bath being adapted to warm or induce local hyperthermia in the skin surface. The divergent array, when associated with a water bath, allows a particularly effective treatment of physiotherapeutic conditions or neoplastic tissues without causing collateral damage.

  • Patent number: 3955844
Abstract: A crane cable attachment for delivering and taking up loads through openings in walls and the like comprises a generally horizontal rail suspended from the crane cable. A load carrying carriage is mounted for movement along the rail, between a lifting position underneath the cable and a loading and unloading position towards one end of the rail. An elongate prop is pivotally connected to this end of the rail for movement between a position in which it may rest on the ground where a load is to be delivered or taken up and a lifting position folded under the rail. A counter-weight is provided at the other end of the rail to maintain it horizontal when both the prop and carriage are in the lifting positions.
