Abstract: The present invention is a process for pultruding fiber reinforced phenolic resin products, in which the phenolic resin normally has a viscosity ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 cps at 25.degree. C. and is heated to maintain a viscosity ranging from 800 to 2,000 cps during the impregnating step. A die having a temperature profile which is particularly suitable for use in the present process is also disclosed, which has substantially three different heating temperatures along the pultrusion direction. Furthermore, a postcuring treatment for improving the mechanical and physical properties of the pultruded products is also disclosed in the present invention.
Abstract: A high power MOSFET is disclosed in which two laterally spaced sources each supply current through respective channels in one surface of a semiconductor chip which are controlled by the same gate. The channels lead from the source electrodes to a relatively low resistivity region and from there to a relatively high resistivity epitaxially formed region which is deposited on a high conductivity substrate. The drain electrode may be either on the opposite surface of the chip or laterally displaced from and on the same side as the source regions. The epitaxially deposited semiconductor material immediately adjacent and beneath the gate and in the path from the sources to the drain has a relatively high conductivity, thereby to substantially reduce the on-resistance of the device without effecting the breakdown voltage of the device.
Abstract: An arrangement for sealing a space having therein rotating means, such as a roller bearing, is provided with sealing rings that are spaced along a rotational axis. The inner annular sealing edges of the sealing rings are biased to engage and seal in against seats that are moving relative to the sealing edges. The seats and sealing edges are disposed so that one or the other of the latter lifts off of its seat to permit pressure within the space to equalize automatically with ambient pressure whether the latter rises or falls relative to pressure within the space.
Abstract: A printing device for a portable label printing machine: The printing device is of the type in which the indicating wheels that both choose the types to be printed and that indicate the chosen types are arranged in a row on a common axis and the type wheels that carry the types to be printed and that are connected with the indicating wheels to be moved thereby are also arranged on another common axis and all of the wheels are located between side frames of the printing device; an indexing shaft having a selector knob is slid along the axis of and through the indicating wheels; the indexing shaft carries a pinion which engages the interior of the selected indicating wheel to rotate that wheel; the indicating wheels are supported around their peripheries in a blind hole formed in one of the side frames.
