  • Patent number: 7583750
Abstract: A method of communicating at least one data burst using an assigned radio configuration. The assigned radio configuration is chosen from one of at least two radio configurations by examining which radio configuration supports a higher data transmission rate. This examination is determined by calculating the data transmission rate for the data burst(s) base on a power level and Walsh code for each of the radio configurations.

  • Patent number: 6952463
Abstract: A method of detecting the format of received information by measuring the time period during which information being received have a power that is at or above a defined threshold. The measured time period and the information rate of the received information are then used to determine an estimate information size value of the received information. The estimated information size value is then applied to an algorithm that determines the format of the received information. Therefore, the format of received information can be detected without the use of TFCI information.

  • Patent number: 6603592
Abstract: An optical-to-optical wavelength converter for converting a plurality of optical bits from a first wavelength in a first wavelength band to a second wavelength in a second wavelength band. The optical-to-optical wavelength converter employs a directional coupler. The directional coupler includes at least one optical element having an index of refraction, which changes in response to optical power substantially in the first wavelength band.

  • Patent number: 6495474
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor device having a gate dielectric layer. The method includes the step of ion implanting at least one of Zr, Hf, La, Y, Al, Ti and Ta into the gate dielectric layer at low implant energy level to increase the dielectric constant of the dielectric layer. Subsequently, the implanted gate dielectric layer is annealed.

  • Patent number: 5956004
Abstract: A flat panel display, such as a Field Emission Display ("FED"), is disclosed having a gray scale generator. Input into the display, initially, is an analog signal having an amplitude. The gray scale generator includes a converter for converting the analog input signal to a sawtooth output signal having a height and width. Further, the width of the sawtooth output signal is responsive to the analog input signal's amplitude.
