  • Patent number: 8252181
Abstract: The horizontal ore filter has a plurality of filter elements covering the circular filter surface thereof and a sub-frame supporting the filter surface. In one aspect, each filter element has a longitudinal concave curvature therein. In another aspect, each sector frame has side flanges thereon. The sub-frame has a plurality of T-bars extending radially along the circular filter surface and each one of these T-bars supports the side edges of two adjacent filter elements. Upon installation of the filter elements to the sub-frame, the sector frames are held tight against the T-bars to ensure a good seal between adjacent filter elements and between each filter element and the sub-frame of the machine.

  • Patent number: 7597918
Abstract: In a method for vacuum packaging a pre-cooked lobster, a bulge, and a horn-receiving notch in that bulge are formed of a plastic tray. The lobster is placed in this tray with a wrapping sheet over it. The bulge and the notch are formed so that the horn of the lobster extends substantially tangent with the wrapping sheet and with the surfaces of the notch. Vacuum is applied between the tray and the wrapping sheet to vacuum-pack the lobster into the tray, thereby enclosing the lobster in a sealed package, with the horn extending tangent to the surfaces of the package surrounding the horn.

  • Patent number: 7513002
Abstract: The pillow stiffener has an elongated cushion with a large rounded shape; two elongated arms each having a small rounded shape and being connected to and extending away from a long side of the elongated cushion. A flexible dull-finished web extends between the arms for retaining the arms at a fixed relationship with each other and with the elongated cushion. A joiner having the mentioned small rounded shape extends between and joins the extremities of both arms. Both arms and the joiner define with the elongated cushion a stabilizing rim around the dull-finished web for better retaining the pillow stiffener to a pillow. In another aspect, the pillow stiffener is made of a pair of flexible air-impermeable sheets and the elongated cushion, the arms and joiner form a single inflatable chamber.

  • Patent number: 6638493
Abstract: The process for producing hydrogen gas according to the present invention consists of reacting aluminum with water in the presence of sodium hydroxide as a catalyst. In one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a process for producing hydrogen gas, comprising the steps of: providing an aqueous solution containing between 0.26 M and 19 M NaOH in a vessel. The next step consists of reacting aluminum with water at the surface of the solution to generate a region of effervescence at the surface of the solution and a precipitate sinking from the region of effervescence to the bottom of the vessel. The region of effervescence is kept separated from the precipitate at the bottom the vessel, to prevent any precipitate from mixing with the aluminum therein.

  • Patent number: 6527247
Abstract: An article support stand especially for use with a computer monitor. The article support stand has two adjustable, pivotable feet that are positioned adjacent to the monitor's base and are held down by anchors that are slidable along the feet. Each of the feet has a thin tongue portion that is tucked under the monitor base. The pivot for the feet of the article support stand is an upright post that also serves as the support for a horizontal beam that is rotatable around the post and slidable up and down thereon. An article holder (for holding, for example, a book or paper copy) is slidably attached to the horizontal beam and is tilted at a preferred angle suitable for reading.
