Abstract: A method of eliminating, reducing or preventing parasites in a fish population is provided by feeding emamectin or a salt thereof to the fish population at a daily dose of 25 &mgr;g to 400 &mgr;g per kg of fish biomass per day for a period of 3-14 days. Also provided is a kit for preparing a medicated fish feed for eliminating, reducing or preventing parasites in a fish population, the kit having a supply of emamectin or a salt thereof and printed instructions for feeding the emamectin or emamectin salt at a daily dose of 25 &mgr;g to 400 &mgr;g per kg of fish biomass per day for a period of 3-14 days.

Abstract: This invention provides a recombinant feline herpesvirus comprising a foreign DNA inserted into a feline herpesvirus genome, wherein the foreign DNA is inserted into a region of the genome which corresponds to the 3.0 kb EcoRI-SalI fragment within a SalI A fragment of the feline herpesvirus genome and is capable of being expressed in a host cell into which the virus is introduced. Further this invention provides a recombinant feline herpesvirus comprising a feline herpesvirus genome, wherein the feline herpesvirus genome contains a deletion in a SacII site within the 3.0 kb EcoRI-SalI fragment of the SalI A fragment of the feline herpesvirus genome. Lastly, this invention provides vaccines and methods of immunization of animals infected with feline herpesvirus.
Abstract: The present invention provides a recombinant infectious bovine rhinotracheitis designated S-IBR-052 (ATCC Accession No. VR 2443). The present invention also provides a vaccine which comprises an effective immunizing amount of the recombinant infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus designated S-IBR-052 and a suitable carrier.
The present invention provides homology vectors, methods of immunization and a method of distinguishing an animal vaccinated with the vaccines of the present invention from an animal infected with a naturally-occurring infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus.
Abstract: This invention provides a recombinant swinepox virus comprising a foreign DNA sequence which is (a) inserted into the swinepox virus genomic DNA, wherein the foreign DNA sequence is inserted within a region of the genome which corresponds to the 2.0 kb HindIII to BglII subfragment located within the HindIII M fragment of the swinepox virus genome and (b) is expressed in a swinepox virus infected host cell. The invention further provides homology vectors, vaccines and methods of immunization.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and reagents for inducing active immunity in animals. In particular, the present invention provides recombinant herpesviruses having foreign DNA that are capable of inducing immunity to the herpesvirus and/or the source of the foreign DNA. The present invention also provides mutant herpesviruses having portions of their genome deleted. Preferably, foreign DNA is introduced, or portions of the genome are deleted, in the UL54.5 open reading frame of avian herpesviruses or the UL43 open reading frame of Marek's disease virus.
Abstract: The present invention provides a recombinant raccoonpox virus comprising a raccoonpox virus viral genome which contains a foreign DNA sequence inserted into a non-essential region within the HindIII “U” genomic region, the HindIII “M” genomic region, or HindIII “N” genomic region of the raccoonpox virus genome. The present invention provides a recombinant raccoonpox virus comprising a raccoonpox virus viral genome which contains a deletion in a raccoonpox virus host range gene of the viral genome. The present invention provides a homology vector for producing a recombinant raccoonpox virus by inserting a foreign DNA sequence into the raccoonpox virus genome. The present invention provides a recombinant raccoonpox virus which is useful as a vaccine in mammalian and avian species.
