Abstract: In a key apparatus having a drive keyway, the drive keyway comprises, a first side wall having a planar inner surface, a second side wall having a planar inner surface, and an end wall having a curvilinear "wave-shaped" inner surface. The first and second side walls are spaced apart, and connected to and extend generally transverse the end wall. The configuration of the drive keyway is very helpful in reducing stress concentration in the gear, and minimizing any motion of the drive key in the axial direction. The present invention is particularly useful in making powdered metal gears for gear pumps, such as hydraulic gear pumps.
Abstract: A window assembly comprises, a first base member and a second base member, both being of general T-shaped configuration, and having a middle portion and two transversely extending arms. The arms have a longitudinal channel and a plurality of longitudinal slots therein. The middle portion of the second base member is slidably insertable in the longitudinal channel of the first base member. A window assembly further comprises first and second window panes being removably inserted in the longitudinal slots formed in the arms of the first and second base members. A plurality of seals are positioned in the slots and serve to sealingly support the first and second window panes in the respective sots. A seal is also positioned between the second base member middle support and the first base member longitudinal channel and is in sealing engagement therewith. A plurality of plastic blocks are positioned between the first and second base members and are in sliding engagement therewith.

Abstract: A ceramic adhesive comprises a ceramic matrix formed from a mixture of a metallic oxide and an alkali silicate in water, and silicon carbide whiskers dispersed within the ceramic matrix. Further, a ceramic adhesive comprises a ceramic matrix formed from a mixture of magnesium oxide in the range of about 50% to about 80% by weight and sodium silicate in water in the range of about 50% to about 20% by weight, and silicon carbide whiskers dispersed within said ceramic matrix, the whiskers being in the range of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the ceramic matrix. A ceramic adhesive of the present invention is particularly useful in mounting and bonding in-cylinder sensors to steel internal engine parts.
