    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a structure for cooling the stator of a superconducting rotating machine. The structure includes a stator coil. Slots are axially disposed at the stator coil to support the stator coil, and a space is defined between the slots to allow the stator coil to be partially exposed. A stator yoke is disposed on the slots such that a space is defined between the exposed portion of the stator coil, the slots and the stator yoke. A cooling tube is disposed in the space defined between the exposed portion of the stator coil, the slots and the stator yoke, thus simultaneously cooling both the stator coil and the stator yoke.

In the detection method, received levels of infrared emitting/receiving elements corresponding to left and right ends of object are measured and stored and the levels and a maximum received level are compared to calculate the refined coordinates. In the correction method, a lower limit level at a position where infrared reception is most significantly impeded by object is calculated through a comparison calculation of maximum and minimum received levels and it is detected that an object is present at a position only when a lower limit level at that position is not greater than the calculated one.

As polystyrene plastic typically used for a shock-absorbing material becomes difficult to use because of environmental pollution, a shock-absorbing means that are formed by compiling plastic films or sheets, bonding them using heat or high frequency waves, and then inflating it by injecting air between the films are often used. However, it was difficult to develop an apparatus for manufacturing these shock-absorbing means with substantially high economical efficiency. Accordingly, the invention provides an apparatus for manufacturing a shock-absorbing material with economical efficiency, and enhanced productivity without looseness or extension, as the plastic sheet or films rolled on a plurality of rolls are bonded by heat at a constant interval while unrolling them.
