    Abstract: A film made of lithium niobate-lithium tantalate solid solution may be formed on a single crystal substrate having a composition of LiNb.sub.1-z Ta.sub.z O.sub.3 (0.ltoreq.z<0.8) by the liquid phase epitaxial process. The substrate is contacted with supercooled liquid phase of a melt to produce the film thereon. The melt consists mainly of Li.sub.2 O.sub.3, Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5, Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 and a flux. A composition of the liquid phase is within a region encompassed by a straight line K linking a point A (95, 5, 0) and a point B (95, 2, 3), a straight line G linking the point A (95, 5, 0) and a point C (60, 40, 0), a straight line H linking the point C (60, 40, 0) and a point D (60, 0, 40), a straight line J linking the point B (95, 2, 3) and a point E (0, 40, 60) and a curved line I defining a composition whose saturation temperature is not more than 1200.degree. C. Each line is shown in a triangular diagram of a pseudo-ternary system of LiNbO.sub.3 -LiTaO.sub.3 --a melting medium.

  • Patent number: 5647734
Abstract: A hydraulic combustion accumulator includes a cylinder divided into a combustion chamber and a hydraulic fluid chamber by a free reciprocating piston. An injection mechanism is provided for separately injecting a combustion fuel and air into the combustion chamber. The combustion fuel preferably includes at least one of ammonia and hydrogen. An ignition mechanism ignites the combustion gas in the combustion chamber thereby causing the piston to apply a pressurizing force to a hydraulic fluid contained in the hydraulic fluid chamber. A control unit controls the operation of the injection mechanism and ignition mechanism such that, in a preferred embodiment, multiple ignitions are achieved during a single combustion stroke of the piston. The hydraulic combustion accumulator can be utilized in a propulsion system as either a primary propulsion power source or a secondary propulsion power source.

  • Patent number: 5647432
Abstract: A ceramic ferrule, an array of ceramic ferrules, and a ceramic ferrule refractory wall, all for shielding a tube sheet/boiler tube assembly of a heat exchanger connected to an industrial heat source. The head portion of each ferrule replaces conventional cast refractory walls, and has an outer-peripheral shape that allows the ferrules to mate at the operating temperature of the industrial heat source. The mated ferrules expand and contract substantially independently of one another, but form a substantially gas-tight barrier for shielding the tube sheet/boiler tube assembly from the waste gas of the industrial heat source.

  • Patent number: 5641255
Abstract: A clip which is comprised of a male member and a female member. The male member is inserted into the female member, and an inserting portion of a leg of the male member passes through split pieces of the female member. The clip in which the male member and the female member are assembled is inserted into through holes in panels to be fastened. When the male member is slightly pulled back, tip ends of the split pieces are engaged in engaging holes in the inserting portion, allowing the clip to be pressed in with the split pieces set in a state of reduced diameter. When the fastened state of the panels is canceled, the male member is pulled out, and the tip ends of the split pieces are engaged in the engaging holes in the inserting portion while being guided by guide grooves. As a result, the diameter of the tip ends of the split pieces is reduced, and the clip is pulled out with the female member held integrally with the male member.
