  • Patent number: 5641255
Abstract: A clip which is comprised of a male member and a female member. The male member is inserted into the female member, and an inserting portion of a leg of the male member passes through split pieces of the female member. The clip in which the male member and the female member are assembled is inserted into through holes in panels to be fastened. When the male member is slightly pulled back, tip ends of the split pieces are engaged in engaging holes in the inserting portion, allowing the clip to be pressed in with the split pieces set in a state of reduced diameter. When the fastened state of the panels is canceled, the male member is pulled out, and the tip ends of the split pieces are engaged in the engaging holes in the inserting portion while being guided by guide grooves. As a result, the diameter of the tip ends of the split pieces is reduced, and the clip is pulled out with the female member held integrally with the male member.

  • Patent number: 5634952
Abstract: An imaginary plane dividing a profile of a rough surface of a filter into halves with equal volume is defined as a mean plane. Assuming cutting the filter with the mean plane, a ratio of the total cross-sectional area of the recesses appearing to the whole area of the mean plane is defined as a Valley Level. An exhaust gas filter having a surface with a Valley Level of at most 20%, a porosity of 40% to 55% and an average pore diameter of 5 .mu.m to 50 .mu.m effectively collects fine particles contained in exhaust gases discharged from internal combustion engines, such as diesel engines, with little pressure loss, and has an improved releasability of deposited fine particles and can be readily regenerated by flow of blowback air, with high efficiency. When the filter has a specified two-layer structure, the Valley Level is readily controllable.

  • Patent number: 5634731
Abstract: For thermal transfer printing, a coloring material image is thermally migrated from a thermal transfer printing sheet having a coloring material layer thereon onto an image forming area of an image-receiving layer of an intermediate transfer recording medium. The image on the recording medium is then thermally transfer-printed under pressure on a printing sheet in an image transfer section. A detection mark is provided on the intermediate transfer recording medium. This detection mark is detected for positioning an image forming area of the recording medium relative to a thermal head of the printer. In a case where the image forming section and the image transfer section are arranged in a line, a buffer unit is provided in which the recording medium being fed continuously between the two sections is caused to take a detouring path whereby mutual influence of the two sections is prevented. A line heater can be used as heating means in the image transfer section.
