Abstract: A closed circuit television communication system for the transmission and reception of original video signals over wires is provided in which separated horizontal sync pulses of the original video signal are pulse width modulated by an audio signal, enabling the video signal to carry additional information which can be recovered on reception. The horizontal sync pulses are separated from the original video signal which are pulse width modulated to form a pulse which varies linearly with an audio input signal. The horizontal sync pulses are replaced in the original video signal with the pulse width modulated pulses while preserving the original video signal levels surrounding the replaced video area. The reconstituted video signal is transmitted over wire, received and the pulse width modulated pulses from the reconstituted video signal are separated and demodulated to produce an audio output signal along with the original video signal.

Abstract: U.S. Pat. No. 4,615,084 disclosed and claimed a method for making multiple-hook fasteners and the resulting multiple-hooks. A strand of stiffly flexible bendable settable polymeric plastic material is zig-zagged back and forth cross a centerline, with sharply doubled-back bends at each zig and zag. The present method enables the doubled-back bends in such a plastic monofilament to be shaped sharply by initially causing the strand to be nicked or scooped at predetermined intervals to predetermined depth and length by at least one laser beam. The pre-nicked strand is used by feeding it endwise at a predetermined feed rate into a zigzag station wherein it is confined and guided by side walls diverging in the downstream direction and appropriately configured to shape the pre-nicked strand into the desired zigzag configuration. Abstract: Heat exchanger tubing has failure rates due to inlet end related problems in the 85-90% range. Such failures are normally limited to the first three to six inches of the tube inlet ends. The present method eliminates the problem without relining, removing, or sealing the tubes. The tube ends are first inspected and the condition of the inlet areas of the tubing determined. If the ends are eroded or corroded, the tube ends are cleaned down to the metal. Then a metallurgically compatible insert is installed in the damaged end and controllably roller-expanded to eliminate any end step at the downstream end as well as to prevent over expansion of the damaged tube and insert. The input end of the insert is flared to the existing inlet tube profile, thereby restoring the damaged area. This process eliminates totally replacing or relining the existing tubes. If erosion is severe, a bushing is inserted between the insert and the tube end and they are roller-expanded together.

Abstract: A salad spinner dryer attachment is provided for a food processor having a base housing containing an electrical motor drive with a deck located on top of the base housing for removably mounting a working bowl thereon in predetermined engaged fixed position and having a tool drive shaft projecting vertically above the deck which drive shaft is rotatable by the motor drive at a first rotational speed around a main vertical axis of rotation. The attachement has an upstanding auxiliary bowl removably mountable upon the deck in place of the working bowl in the predetermined engaged fixed position. This auxiliary bowl has an uninterrupted side wall and a bottom trough for catching and holding any water which drains down its inside surface. A slotted basket is rotatably mountable in the auxiliary bowl to rotate around the main vertical axis at a second rotational speed substantially less than the first rotational speed of the tool drive shaft.
