  • Patent number: 8234940
Abstract: A method of collecting trace evidence comprises utilizing a sheet material to recover trace evidence wherein the sheet material comprises a sheet of non-porous material having a first side and a second side, the first side comprising an active side exhibiting an adhesion peel force after activation by a user which is greater than an adhesion peel force exhibited prior to activation by a user and which is sufficient to form a continuous seal against any target surface. The adhesion peel force before activation is substantially zero. The activation of the active side requires no removal of components of the sheet of material. The sheet of material is sufficiently flexible to conform readily to any desired surface and has sufficiently small resiliency that it does not exert undue restorative forces which would tend to cause the sheet of material to break contact with such a desired surface.

  • Patent number: 8180680
Abstract: A product is recommended over a computer network by initiating a recommendation network by creating an active advertisement object of a product on an electronic medium. A recommendation request is received from a user viewing the electronic medium to recommend the product to at least one more viewer. The viewer may be a recommended user. The user and the recommended user or users form a recommendation network. The active advertisement object is recreated on another electronic medium. The recommendation request and the recreation may be repeated, and a recommendation chain is determinable.

  • Patent number: 8090656
Abstract: A plurality of users have a savings goal, and a plurality of mobile devices each belong to a user. An electronic message from a user's mobile device is received. The electronic message comprises a description of a service or product not purchased and the amount of money not spent because it was not purchased. The description and amount are stored and a running total of the amount of money not spent is computed. A second electronic message is transmitted to all of the plurality of mobile devices except the first mobile device. The second electronic message comprises the description, amount, and an identifier of the user of the first mobile. Receiving, storing, computing, and transmitting are repeated until the savings goal is reached. A system includes the plurality of mobile devices, at least one communication network, and a computer in communication with the communication network. The system may also include a bank.

  • Patent number: 7889124
Abstract: A wireless utility asset mapping device comprises a pole, a positioning receiver connected to the pole, a wireless modem connected to the positioning receiver and the pole, and at least one waterproof housing enclosing the positioning receiver and the wireless modem. The wireless modem is a long range wireless modem and has a range of at least 500 feet in low density and high density areas. The wireless utility asset mapping device may also comprise an external interface module, and external equipment in communication with the external interface module. A utility asset is located and the wireless utility asset mapping device is placed over the location of the utility asset. The coordinate of the wireless utility asset mapping device is determined and wirelessly transmitted over long distance in low density and high density areas.

  • Patent number: 7765618
Abstract: An article of clothing comprises four layers. A first layer of fabric is in the form of a wearable garment. A second layer of synthetic tricot fabric is attached to the first layer. A third layer of foam has the same shape and size as the second layer, is aligned with the second layer, and is heat fused to a horizontal fiber size of the tricot fabric. A fourth layer of loop material has the same shape and size as the third layer, is aligned with the third layer, has two sides both of which comprise nylon loops, and is heat fused to the fourth layer. A display item of a plurality of display items has a substantially smooth front portion and a back portion having a plurality of hooks.
