  • Patent number: 7611331
Abstract: A device and a method for controlling a two-cylinder thick matter pump comprising pistons that are actuated in a push-pull manner by means of a hydraulic reversible pump (6) and hydraulic drive cylinders controlled by said pump. To ensure a reliable operation of the pump the expected length of the stroke of the pistons (8, 8?) in the drive cylinders (5, 5?) is measured and recorded, the stroke time of each conveyance stroke is monitored and compared with the expected stroke duration, and the reversible pump (6) is respectively pivoted, reversing the flow, and/or the pipe switch (56) is reversed when the stroke time exceeds the expected stroke duration by a pre-determined value.

  • Patent number: 7600561
Abstract: A method for air conditioning a motor vehicle, in which, in a heating mode, the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle is heated via a passenger compartment heat exchanger (5) through heat pump operation of a refrigerating circuit (1). To prevent fogging of the windows of the motor vehicle from the outset, the temperature and humidity in the passenger compartment are recorded by measurement technology, and when the temperature is in a predefined range and the atmospheric humidity reaches a defined threshold, the mass flow of refrigerant in the circuit is throttled upstream of the passenger compartment heat exchanger (5), in such a manner that the moisture contained in the air stream passing the passenger compartment heat exchanger (5) is at least substantially condensed at the passenger compartment heat exchanger (5), and the moisture which has already condensed at the heat exchanger (5) remains at the heat exchanger (5).

  • Patent number: 7586402
Abstract: The opening of vehicle doors often leads to collisions with stationary obstacles that are not visible to the occupants or with moving obstacles that approach the vehicle without being noticed. Thus to avoid collisions when vehicle doors are opened, the aim of the invention is to take any modifications to the environmental situation of the vehicle as a result of a movement of the vehicle and the detected objects into consideration. This allows a collision of the vehicle doors with the objects to be reliably avoided. To achieve this, in a first step the probable trajectory of a vehicle is determined. In an additional step, the objects in the vicinity of the vehicle are detected and probable trajectories of said detected objects are determined. Respective probability ranges are then defined both for the vehicle and the pivoting zone of the vehicle doors and for the detected objects.

  • Patent number: 7581935
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for controlling a two-cylinder thick matter pump comprising delivery pistons that are actuated in a push-pull manner by means of a hydraulic reversible pump (6) and hydraulic drive cylinders controlled by said pump. For each pressure stroke, the delivery cylinders (50, 50?) are connected to a delivery conduit (58) by means of a pipe junction (56). At the end of a pressure stroke, a reversal process of the reversible pump (6) and the pipe junction (56) is triggered. The aim of the invention is to obtain a targeted reversal of the reversal pump and the pipe junction, even when the deliverable quantity is varied, whereby the delivery cylinders are completely emptied, but also without pistons banging the ends of the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 7557268
Abstract: Promoters which increase the pathogen-inducibility of genes in plants, preferably in sugar beets, rape, potatoes, corn, soybeans, wheat, rice, rye, barley, cotton and sunflower. The promoters are characterized in that they lead to the rapid local expression of the gene respectively under the control thereof in different organs and tissues of transgenic plants such as leaves, shoots and/or roots, after having been infected by a pathogen or wounded. This attribute makes these sequences ideal for use as a regulation element for the controlled expression of antifungal compounds and thus for developing fungus-resistant plants.

  • Patent number: 7508952
Abstract: To ensure the same high quality of acoustic radiation from audio systems on each seat of current vehicles, an acoustic device is provided for generating audio signals, which allows sound sources to be integrated into the area located near the headrest of a vehicle seat such that the volume can be regulated in an individual manner without unduly disturbing the other passengers in a vehicle. The headrest does not comprise any loudspeakers, thus is safe regarding accident protection. The acoustic near field at the headrest is generated by means of a sound channel. The loudspeaker is disposed inside the backrest or under the seat, for example, while the sound channel terminates in the headrest. Tuned pipes, the end of which is adjusted to the acoustic impedance of the clearance zone, are used as a sound channel.

  • Patent number: 7505901
Abstract: Voice command operated systems are being installed in modern motor vehicles with increasing frequency. Such systems should be operable by various vehicle occupants and from various seating positions. A new type of speech recognition system is described, which is good at accomplishing these tasks. Therein, for regulating the speech recognition system, the reception characteristic of a a directionally selective microphone array (12) is controlled by an optimization unit (10). These speech signals are then processed in a speech recognizer (11) at least parallel in time. Then, on the basis of the results provided by the speech recognizer (11), the reception characteristic of the microphone array (12) is so controlled by an optimization unit (10), that the recognition performance of the speech recognizer (11) downstream of the optimization unit (10) is optimized.
