Abstract: A putter is disclosed and comprises a head, a shaft and a handle. The head has a rear and a front. The shaft defines a longitudinal axis, has an end operatively attached to and proximate the head and extends upwardly, rearwardly therefrom to an upper end. The handle has a second end operatively attached and contiguous to the upper end and extends longitudinally, upwardly to a first end. The handle has, on its front, a thumb-receiving surface, and, on respective sides, adjacent the second end, finger-receiving surfaces, and can be held in a grip wherein the thumbs point towards the head and lie parallel upon the thumb-receiving surface; the middle finger tips touch; in each hand, the forefinger lies against the thumb and against a respective finger-receiving surface and the middle finger lies against the forefinger and against a respective finger-receiving surface; and the ring and small fingers are intertwined.

Abstract: A trigger, for use with a port through which a flow of particulate solid material selectively passes, is disclosed and comprises a sensor and a trigger body having a first position and a second position. The trigger body is biased for movement to said first position; defines a threshold level of said particulate; is adapted to be positioned, in use, beneath said port so as be impinged upon by said flow when at its first position and moved by said flow to its second position; and is adapted, upon accumulation of said particulate beneath said port beyond the threshold level, to be restrained as against movement to said first position by said particulate until such time as the particulate recedes to said threshold level. The sensor produces a signal responsive to movement of the trigger body to its first position. Particulate handling apparatus including the trigger is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a splash block for use with a combination bathtub/shower structure of the type having a substantially planar, horizontal rim surface extending underneath a shower curtain rod. The splash block comprises a ramp portion and a collar portion, wherein the ramp portion has a drainage surface bounded by a peripheral edge consisting of a drip edge and a collar-receiving edge, and wherein the collar portion extends around the collar-receiving edge, and is positionable at an operative position on said rim surface whereat said ramp portion substantially overlies one of said exposed contiguous corners with the drip edge presenting towards the bathing recess, with the drainage surface of said ramp portion presenting upwardly and sloping downwardly to the drip edge, and with the collar portion projecting upwardly.

Abstract: A hinge is disclosed, which forms part of a vehicle seat which includes a seat cushion and a cushion plate attached thereto. The fixed part of a rotary recliner, having a handle extending therefrom, is mounted to the cushion plate. An idler plate is mounted to the movable part of the recliner, for rotation therewith. A sector plate, which carries a seat back, has a first position relative to the idler plate, and is lockable thereat by a latch, for rotation with the idler plate under control of the handle. This permits the seat back to be pivoted to a preferred seating position via the recliner when the latch is engaged. When the latch is disengaged, the sector plate is forwardly rotatable, relative to the idler plate, from the preferred position. A spring biases the latch to re-engage the sector plate upon rearward rotation thereof back to its first position.

Abstract: The seat has a rotary recliner providing for selective pivotal movement of the seat back about an axis between occupiable and frontmost positions, and a dumped position therebetween. The improvement comprises a handle mounted on the back for movement between design and tipping positions, and an intermediate position therebetween; a member mounted on the back for pivotal movement therewith and for relative movement between first and second positions; a ring having a portion for, when the member is at its second position and the back is at its dumped position, engaging the member to arrest frontward pivotal movement thereof; and a first linkage for moving the member between its first and second positions upon movement of the handle between its design and intermediate positions and for controlling the recliner to permit said pivotal movement of the back when the handle is at its tipping position.

Abstract: A safety switch apparatus for use in a remote starter system of a vehicle, the apparatus having a magnetically actuated electrical switch for disabling the starter system when the switch is closed and a transmission of the vehicle is in-gear, and a magnet for urging the switch into a switched position when the magnet is adjacent thereto. The switch is securely mountable at a fixed mounting position on a frame of the vehicle, and the magnet is directly and securely mountable on a translatable portion of a user actuator for shifting the transmission. The translatable portion of the user actuator is operatively interposed between the transmission and a shifter handle portion of the user actuator. Both the fixed mounting position and the translatable portion are substantially concealed and substantially exterior relative to an interior seating compartment of the vehicle.

Abstract: A mounting system comprises a mount, a latch, an engaging member, a pin and a plate. The mount is mounted to a vehicle, defines a lateral axis and has a first portion of an object mounted thereto, for pivotal movement of the object about the axis to a design position, whereat the latch, which is connected to a second portion of the object, selectively engages with the engaging member, which is mounted on said vehicle. The plate presents a slot and, on opposite longitudinal sides of the slot, a pair of contiguous sockets. The pin is connected to the second portion and travels into the slot to a closed end of the slot during movement of the object to its design position. The sockets permit, through deformation of the object, longitudinal movement of the pin thereinto to a rearward limit position and a frontward limit position, respectively.

Abstract: A gymnastics grip, and a process for making same, wherein the grip is for attachment to the wrist and fingers of a gymnast and has a palm portion defining a longitudinal axis, a palm face, and a finger end, and a dowel defining a dowel axis. The dowel is attached to the palm face adjacent the finger end, with the dowel axis transverse to the longitudinal axis, by a flap secured to the palm face by a first stitching passing through the flap and the palm face parallel to the dowel axis. A first portion of the flap extends from the first stitching to substantially surround the dowel, without intervening between the dowel and the first stitching, and is secured adjacent a free end thereof to the palm face by a second stitching passing through the free end and the palm face parallel to the first stitching.

Abstract: An apparatus for the separation of fluid mixtures into a permeate and a retentate comprises separation modules each having fluid containment chambers stacked therein. Each fluid containment chamber is defined by a pair of selectively permeable membranes having their active surfaces facing inwardly toward one another, with a gasket sandwiched therebetween in sealing engagement with each membrane. A channelled support plate is positioned adjacent to the outside surface of each membrane. The channels in the support plates fluidly communicate with a housing, thereby allowing negative pressure from the housing to be brought into direct contact with the outside surface of each selectively permeable membrane. The fluid mixture is pumped into each fluid containment chamber at one end and moves across the active surfaces of the membranes toward a retentate receiver positioned at the opposite end. In doing so, permeate is drawn out through both membranes into the channels and the housing.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automated leak testing, capping, labelling, evacuating and loading collapsible plastic containers in bulk into magazine clips for subsequent handling operations is provided. The apparatus is compact and intergrated, defining discrete stations for each stated method step.

Abstract: A vehicle seat slide comprises a movable track member slidably engaging a fixed track member for sliding movement between rearward and forward track positions. A track lock is mounted on the movable track member to selectively restrain the movable track member relative to the fixed track member at an intermediate track position. An actuator is provided for operative connection with the track lock for movement between an actuating configuration whereat the actuator urges the track lock away from a locking configuration and a rest configuration whereat the actuator permits the track lock to move into the locking configuration. A controller is provided for contact with the actuator, so as to cause the actuator to be held in the actuating configuration upon the movable track member being moved to the forward track position and for thereafter permitting the actuator to return to the rest configuration only after movement of the movable track member to a position rearward of the intermediate track position.

Abstract: A latching mechanism in a vehicle seat hinge assembly having a seatback hinge plate pivotally connected to a seat cushion hinge plate for movement about a hinge pivot axis between substantially upright and forwardly folded positions, comprises a guide and a stop in the seat cushion hinge plate. A link arm member has a follower member slidingly retained by the guide and is pivotally mounted on the seatback hinge plate for movement about a separate and distinct link pivot axis spaced from the hinge pivot axis between two latchable positions whereat the follower member contacts the stop, through an intermediate unlatching position whereat the follower member does not contact the stop. A latch is mounted on the seat cushion hinge plate for selectively holding the follower member in restrained contact with the stop, to thereby retain the seatback hinge plate in either the substantially upright or the forwardly folded position.

Abstract: A machine for sanding a floor for use with sandpaper having a smooth side and an abrasive side is disclosed and comprises a platform having a rearward end and a forward end, wheels mounted on the platform to support the rearward end for rolling movement, a sanding head, a motor and a handle. The sanding head defines a sanding face and is mounted on the platform for rotation about a vertical axis with the sanding face oriented normal to the vertical axis. The motor is mounted on the platform for driving said rotation. The handle is rigidly mounted to the platform, adjacent the rearward end, and extends substantially upwardly and rearwardly. An attachment means is also provided for selectively, releasably attaching said sandpaper to the sanding head, with the smooth side in underlying contactable relation to the sanding face and the abrasive side in contactable relation to the floor.

Abstract: A retaining wall system (20) comprises at least one wall panel (24) and two vertical frame members (40), each frame member (40) having a web (56), two flanges (54) and an end secured within the ground. Each wall panel (24) has a face (28) with a plurality of mounting brackets (38) protruding therefrom, and is supported in mechanically retained vertical orientation between the flanges (54) of adjacent frame members (40). A plurality of connectors (46), each having a proximal end (48) secured to a respective one of said mounting brackets (38) and extending horizontally therefrom to a distal end (50) secured to a respective one of a plurality of anchors (52) is also disclosed. Optionally, a plurality of Jersey barrier panels (106) or acoustic panels are similarly mechanically retained to form a Jersey barrier or acoustic barrier, respectively. Further is disclosed a method for erecting a retaining wall according to the invention.

Abstract: A fold flat vehicle seat comprises a movable track member slidably engaging a fixed track member. A seat assembly is mounted thereon for longitudinal sliding movement of the seat assembly relative to the fixed track member. A track lock is operatively interconnected between the movable and fixed track members and movable between a locked configuration whereat the movable track member is precluded from moving longitudinally relative to the fixed track member and a released configuration whereat the movable track member is permitted to move longitudinally relative to the fixed track member. The seat assembly includes a seat cushion member mounted on the movable track member and a seatback member mounted on the seat cushion member for forward folding about a seatback pivot axis between a substantially upright occupiable position and a substantially horizontal load supporting position.
