The computer is programmed to identify saturated data in the second layer and substitute the saturated data with non-saturated data from a corresponding pixel in the first layer.

The alternate modality subsystem includes a detector mounted to a rotatable gantry. The detector may be a quadrupole resonance unit, a dual energy x-ray unit, or a backscatter x-ray unit. The acquisition subsystem analyzes an article and distinguishes regions of interest (may contain contraband) from regions of no interest (do not contain contraband). The article is then transported to the alternate modality subsystem at which the detector further analyzes just the regions of interest.

    Abstract: A method of detecting onset of a gas turbine condition, such as compressor stall, includes receiving data indicative of an operating parameter of a compressor of the gas turbine. The method also includes performing a wavelet transformation on the data to generate wavelet transformed data. The wavelet transformation is configured to affect a processing characteristic regarding a performance of the wavelet transformation. Features indicative of onset of the gas turbine condition in the wavelet transformed data are then identified to provide an indication for controlling the gas turbine to prevent compressor stall from occurring. A system for detecting onset of compressor stall in a gas turbine includes a sensor for providing data indicative of an operating parameter of the compressor and a processor for performing a wavelet transform on the data to identify features of the optimized wavelet transformed data indicative of onset of stall.

    Abstract: A hybrid power generation system for generating electrical power comprises a compressor for producing a compressed oxidant and a recuperator in flow communication with the compressor. The hybrid power generation system further comprises a fuel cell assembly comprising a plurality of fuel cells in flow communication with the recuperator to provide the compressed oxidant for the fuel cell assembly. The hybrid power generation system further comprises a tail gas burner in flow communication with the fuel cell assembly. A control system is used for controlling the amount of cathode exhaust stream introduced in the tail gas burner for stable combustion and reduction of fuel and carbon monoxide emission. The hot compressed gas from the tail gas burner is introduced to a turbine, where the hot compressed gas is expanded, thereby producing electrical power and an expanded gas.
