  • Patent number: 7655294
Abstract: The invention relates to a digital printing method and a paper or board applicable thereto. In digital printing, the surface of a paper or board is charged electrically, toner particles are brought to the surface in an electric field in accordance with the printing, and the particles are melted fast to the surface with the help of heat for forming the printing. According to the invention, the paper or board (2) is provided with a coating layer (3) containing an electrically chargeable acrylate copolymer of ethylene, which receives the toner that is fused to the coating with the help of infrared radiation. Suitable coating polymers are especially methyl, ethyl and butyl acrylate copolymers of ethylene (EMA, EEA and EBA). Especially in packaging boards, besides the digitally printable layer, the polymer coatings can comprise a water vapor or oxygen barrier layer for protecting the packed product, and a heat-sealable layer on the opposite side of the board for sealing the package.

  • Patent number: 7651053
Abstract: An aerodynamic airflow deflecting device for a landing gear retracting into a housing of an aircraft, comprising at least one element for closing the housing that is, through the action of a control device, able to occupy a position for shielding at least a part of the landing gear against the aerodynamic airflow, thus constituting a noise reducing aerodynamic device. The closing element can in particular include at least one trap door element that is, through the action of the control device, movable between a first position for closing the housing, a second position allowing the landing gear to exit and a third position constituting said shielding position.

  • Patent number: 7648315
Abstract: A lock body in a locked state is inserted radially inward of an outer surface. A stopper body in a contact state holds the lock body in an unlocked state. The stopper body in a non-contact state is retracted from the lock body. A pressing body is switchable between a standby state and a retracted state. The pressing body in the standby state selectively contacts a central shaft when an insertion portion is inserted in a support cylinder. The pressing body in the retracted state is retracted from the stopper body. An urging member urges the pressing body into the standby state, and urges the stopper body into the contact state. The urging member detachably engages the pressing body to the stopper body. Thus, the structure of the cutter holder is simple.

  • Patent number: 7644281
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for watermarking text or vector graphics documents. It is based on character-wise or vector graphics element-wise grayscale or color modulation. At high resolution, halftone or dither modulation can also be used in addition or in place of grayscale/color modulation, for printed representation of electronic document. For the detection, the document is acquired through an acquisition device, document segmentation is performed, characters/elements are segmented, the watermark signal is estimated and the information is decoded. Although the proposed scheme mostly addresses the watermarking of hard-copy documents, it can easily be integrated into electronic document editing and acquisition tools, and the watermark is attached to the document electronic version. The invention is applicable either using expensive high-resolution printing and acquisition devices, either using common cheap low-resolution devices, depending on the application needs.

  • Patent number: 7635827
Abstract: A cooking apparatus powered by a detachable electrical control, the apparatus having a cooking surface and a support member hingedly attached to the cooking surface. The support member has a folded position generally parallel to the cooking surface and an extended position generally perpendicular to the cooking surface. A barrier element extends generally perpendicularly from the support member. An inlet port is disposed on the cooking surface, defining an opening, and having a connector sized to fit the detachable electrical control. The inlet port is electrically connected to the heating element and disposed on the cooking surface proximate the barrier element such that the barrier element obstructs the inlet port's connector when the support member is folded under the cooking surface and the barrier element does not obstruct the inlet port's connector when the support member is unfolded and generally perpendicular to the cooking surface.

  • Patent number: 7627719
Abstract: The invention provides a cache device and method for performing a cache process on a cache memory having a high capacity in a high speed. The cache processing section performs a cache process composed of two-stage processes, a query process (P1) and a subsequent process (P2). In the query process (P1), the respective index tables and the identifier table are used to query whether the target identifier is present in the cache memory at a step (S101). If it is present, a data address of the target identifier in the cache memory is transmitted to the CPU. Otherwise, a data address of an identifier for a previously prepared ultimate LRU in the cache memory is transmitted to the CPU at a step (S102). In a subsequent process (P2), adjustment operations for the respective tables, regarding insertion of an identifier for a new data and deletion of the identifier for the ultimate LRU data, are performed at a step (S201).
