Abstract: A gas detection method includes carrying out respective neutron and density logs, using neutron and density detectors, along a length of well. The density log is corrected for the dimensions and properties of the well casing. The corrected density log is then combined with the neutron log to compensate for regions of artificially high density outside the casing. The compensated density log is continuously calibrated against the neutron log. The dynamically calibrated density and neutron logs are inspected for crossovers that signify the presence of gas in a formation.

Abstract: An ice making apparatus is provided in which a refrigeration cycle is used to produce ice inside an evaporator that is generally horizontally disposed, with a hollow auger being provided with a helical flight thereon, for scraping ice from the inner wall of the evaporator and pushing the ice toward one end of the auger, by which it is compressed and moved by a paddle toward a flange, in which it is delivered to an ice breakup device, by which the ice is diverted into a compression zone, with water being squeezed from the ice and the ice delivered to a transport tube and then to an ice retainer. Filling the retainer or jamming of ice nuggets inside the transport will effect a shut-down of the apparatus. Various water level controls for a water reservoir are provided, whereby the auger is flooded inside and outside, for enhancing ice formation. Nugget-type ice is provided by the ice making apparatus. The apparatus allows for changing the nugget size/shape without negative ice hardness consequences.

Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a main member having a main cam member and a bore extending generally along an axis of rotation. A pivot member, fixed to an end of a shaft extending through the bore, includes a pivot cam member and is rotatable with respect to the main member. At least one torque element is rotatably engaged with the shaft and is substantially rotationally fixed with respect to the main member. The at least one torque element imparts a first frictional resistance to the shaft with rotation of the shaft in a first direction and a second frictional resistance to the shaft with rotation of the shaft in a second direction. The first frictional resistance is greater than the second frictional resistance. Interaction of the main cam member with the pivot cam member assists in maintaining the hinge assembly in at least first and second positions.
Abstract: The invention relates to a carrier system for products to be cooked in a baking oven. Said system comprises at least one carrier for products to be cooked (5), at least one pair of telescoping slides (6) which respectively comprise at least one inner rail (6a) and one outer rail (6b), and fixing devices which are arranged on the lateral walls (1a) of the baking oven muffle (1) and which enable the telescoping slides (6) to be detachably fixed at various levels of said baking oven muffle (1). Said carrier for products to be cooked (5) is positioned in such a way that it can be removed from the baking oven muffle by means of the telescoping slides situated in the same.
Abstract: Security bar and brackets for a sliding patio door or sliding window, wherein the brackets are of mirrored structure and are intended to be mounted in a juxtaposed position for holding and releasing the security bar. A slot in each bracket guides the security bar into and out of the brackets. The movement of the security bar is in and downward when being inserted and upward and outward toward the operator when being removed. The path of movement dissuades jimmying, and aids in ease of bar removal by the operator.
Abstract: A latch is disclosed that can be applied to doors in a variety of orientations and/or with keepers in a variety of orientations without any modifications to the latch being necessary. The latch includes a first module that carries a handle and an actuating member, and the latch includes a second module that includes a latching mechanism. The first and second modules can be secured together with the first and second modules being relatively oriented in any one of a plurality of orientations, while the latch remains operational with the two modules secured together in any of the various orientations.
Abstract: Latches including a housing, a rotary pawl, catch means for releasably holding the pawl in a closed configuration, and means for operating the catch means are disclosed. The pawl is pivotally attached to the housing and is rotationally movable between a closed or engaged configuration and an open or disengaged configuration. The pawl is provided with a torsion spring member that biases the pawl toward the open or disengaged configuration. In some embodiments the catch means includes a locking member. In other embodiments the catch means includes a pivotally movable trigger. The means for operating the catch means may be electrically powered.

Abstract: A hook latch for fastening and unfastening a closure member to a keeper in a latched position. The hook latch is moveable between the latched position and an open position. The hook latch comprises a rotation means which preferably comprises a knob connected to a cam shaped protuberance which acts upon an actuator plate and a locking plate. Upon rotation of either the knob or the key which is inserted in a lock cylinder which has a locking ring having a cam-shaped protuberance, the cam-shaped protuberances displace both the actuator plate and the locking plate.
Abstract: An oropharyngeal device for insertion into the mouth of a patient. The device includes a body having a distal end and a proximal end with a flange formed at the proximal end. The distal end is inserted into the mouth until the flange is disposed outside and adjacent to the patient's mouth. The flange keeps the proximal device from entering the mouth. The body is sized such that the distal end of the body is disposed within the pharynx above the epiglottis. The device includes a channel that forms an airway between the ends. The device also includes at least three separate conduits integrated into the body for administering oxygen, suctioning, and for assessing ventilation thorough end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring. The conduits for oxygenation and suctioning extend through the body between its proximal and distal ends. The conduit for end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring terminates within the channel.

Abstract: A latch for securing together two members such as a frame member to which the latch is connected and a door or panel which can swing into position and into a stop position when the door or panel member contacts a rotary pawl which is biased to the unlatched position. The latch has a trigger assembly which releases the rotary pawl from the latched position when the latch is unlocked and actuated.
Abstract: Apparatus transports rod(s) of ice of flaked or chipped ice through a tube to a remote ice bin, in which the ice is broken into nuggets. A method of cleaning the transport tube is also provided in which ice pushes a dry conformable article and a wet conformable articles carrying sanitizing solution through the tube, with the conformable articles preferably being sponges, and with the wet article sanitizing algae, bacteria, etc. during movement through the tube, and with the dry conformable article scraping debris from wall(s) of the tube during transport.
