Abstract: Apparatus for taking dents, bends, and crushed areas out of siphon tubes and restoring the tubes to their original shape, the apparatus comprising a pair of end plugs, a pair of tube vises, a pair of screw clamps, and an hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump has an inlet from a water source, such as a common garden hose, and an outlet to one of the end plugs. The end plugs each have an internal fluid passage for fluid communication with the interior of the tube to be restored. A second end plug is attached to the other end of the tube; the second plug terminating in a draincock for ridding the system of any air. The end plugs are held in sealed engagement with the ends of the tube to be restored by means of screw clamps which are anchored to the tube by means of the vises. To restore a crushed tube, water is allowed to fill the system through the inlet of the hydraulic pump. The draincock is then closed, sealing the system.
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for the infusion of a measured volume of blood while simultaneously infusing other intravenous solutions. The infusion apparatus includes a first check valve connected to a blood container; a first Y-connector connected at one inlet to the first check valve and at the other inlet to a calibrated syringe with plunger, and at its outlet to a force operative check valve; a second Y-connector connected at one inlet to the distal end of the force operative check valve, at the other inlet to a second check valve connected to an intravenous solution container, and at its outlet is adapted to connect with a needle. A measured quantity of blood is withdrawn from the blood container into the calibrated syringe and is infused into the vein without disturbing the infusion of the I-V solution, and without manual manipulation.
Abstract: A siphon tube starter comprising a cylinder and piston, the base of the cylinder having a tubular inlet extension to which is fastened a soft flexible cone for abutting the end of a siphon tube. Retraction of the piston creates a negative pressure in the cylinder, extension tube and siphon, thereby priming the siphon. The negative pressure causes a temporary, abutting, air tight connection between the flexible cone and the siphon which disappears once the siphon is primed. A guide tube is also provided.
Abstract: A mechanically built cover for an underground pit which accommodates one or more hunters, and gives maximum freedom of movement and firearm safety. It is preferably used by duck and goose hunters. The cover is built for instant opening, allowing time for the hunters to get their birds within shooting range. This cover will cut down on injured birds which leave the area to die. A designed safety feature of this pit cover is that one man can pull the cord which opens the cover instantly allowing other hunters in the pit to have complete control of their firearms. The pit cover may be camouflaged with whatever is in the hunting area such as corn stalks or any other natural foliages.
Abstract: Rod and reel storage apparatus, designed for temporary or permanent storage of fishing rod and reels, which includes a pair of holders, each holder having a mounting bracket, an upwardly extending arm rotatably and removably attached to the bracket, and a loop assembly attached to the top of the arm, the loop assembly including at least one loop having an obliquely located slot at its uppermost end; the loop adapted to receive a fishing rod at a downwardly oblique angle and adapted to prevent removal of the rod at an angle upwardly parallel to the loop axis. The apparatus may also contain a hinge, substantially in the center of the arm for lateral movement of upper part of the arm and the attached loop assembly. The apparatus may also contain means for rotating the loop assembly. A coating of a resilient plastic material on the loop assembly for protecting the rods and reels from abrasion is also provided.
Abstract: A sign opening, closing and locking device for use on a conventional rectangular, box-like sign having one or more advertising panels hingably attached to the frame. The device comprises gear racks and pinion, a raceway for containing the racks, linkage from the racks to the front panel, and a crank for rotating the pinion. In operation the crank is mated with a shaft to rotate the pinion. Rotation of the crank and the engaged pinion cause linear movement of the racks and the attached linkage resulting in an initial disengagement of the linkage from a stationary lock pin. Further rotation results in an outward movement of the front panel as it is rotated on its hinges. Opposite rotation of the pinion results in closure and locking of the sign.
Abstract: The fence clip tool of the present invention comprises a fence clip channel-like housing assembly including a clip pocket defined by the housing side walls and a pair of opposing transverse upstanding walls and a pair of opposing arms having substantially arcuate transverse jaws at one of their respective terminal ends, the arms being axially mounted and journalled for rotation in the housing distally from the terminal ends of the housing.
Abstract: A fingernail protector having a finger support flange; a semicircular lower shell, co-extensive with the flange; an upper semicircular cover resting upon the shell, the shell and cover defining a cylinder for encasing the distal finger joint; an exterior hinge connecting the shell and cover which permits convenient access to the fingernail; and a finger support strap having a plurality of flexible hooks on one side and a plurality of flexible loops on the other side.
Abstract: A collapsable portable table including a table top and a pair of interlocking legs. The table top, on its undersurface, contains a leg receiving block which interlockingly engages the legs. The legs each have an opening substantially in the center thereof which encase the receiving block when the legs are stored flush against the undersurface of the table top for carrying or for storage. Locking means are also provided for retaining the legs either in the standing or in the collapsed position.
Abstract: A demountable boat trailer step including a foot plate having a pair of parallel slots adjacent each end and running substantially the full width of the plate, a plurality of bolts, a pair of clamp bars, and a plurality of nuts. The foot plate rests on the top surface of a boat trailer frame member and is demountably attached by means of bolts extending through the slots and engaging clamp bars contacting the undersurface of the frame member. Slots in the foot plate permit mounting on various sizes of frame members. Adapters are provided for attachment of the step to cylindrical frame members.
Abstract: Golf game apparatus comprising a golf ball, a portable, telescoping stand for supporting the ball at a selected height and a bat having one or more flat hitting surfaces for hitting the ball from the stand in a desired trajectory. The bat may contain a variety of textures and materials for making contact with the ball, and is also adapted for putting. A method for playing the game is included.
Abstract: A grill cleaning device comprising a carriage, stationary end plates and spring loaded side-plates. A cubical, abrasive, cleaning element is temporarily captively held within the confines of the carriage, end plates and side plates. Provisions for convenient conversion from manual to electrical power for oscillating the grill cleaning element over the grill surface are included.
Abstract: A laminate trimmer guide including a frame adapted to be hand held for greater precision and control in trimming and an alignment rod of sufficient length to provide vertical alignment of a rotary cutter of a laminate trimmer with the vertical surface of a structural member having a horizontal laminate overlap to be cut.
