    Abstract: A fluid filled insole comprises a fluid tight bladder having upper and lower layers and a generally foot-shaped, planar configuration, with proximal forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot regions; a heavy, viscous, sterile liquid substantially filling the bladder; at least one, preferably between two and six transversely spaced forefoot flow deflectors joining the upper and lower layers in the proximal forefoot region of the bladder; flow passages matched to the anatomical structure of the foot between the forefoot flow deflectors and the medial and lateral and peripheral margins of the bladder; and a flow controller matched to the border between the lateral and medial longitudinal arch.
