In the second step, the coating is applied to the holder portion so as to surround each lens surface.

Abstract: Measuring the voltage level of a mobile telephone battery during a charging operation involves disabling the charge temporarily so that the battery rapidly enters discharge mode. The discharge mode voltage is more representative of the true battery charge level, so that the present invention can be implemented to provide a battery charge level display that is accurate even when the telephone is being charged.

Abstract: A methodology, a system, and an apparatus is defined for performing evidence-based decision-making about matching a given entity against one or more of a set of known or reference entities. A satisfactory decision is achieved as a function of both potentiality and plausibility, where plausibility refers to the full set of values garnered by the evidence accumulation process in the process of generating belief/disbelief/uncertainty/conflict masses. Potentiality is a mechanism to set the various match threshold values, where the thresholds define acceptable confidence levels for decision-making. Evidence is computed on the basis of partial matching of feature vector elements, where separate and distinct feature vectors are associated with both the given entity and each of the reference entities. Following evidence-combination methods, evidence is accrued for both the positive and negative decisions regarding a potential match.

Abstract: Systems and methods for minimizing extraneous forces and calculating corrected weights of samples based on buoyancy factors for a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The TGA includes a balance chamber and a furnace configured to heat a sample. A null balance is provided in the balance chamber and is used to measure the sample weight change during heating. The furnace includes a cylinder open at the top to receive a sample. The bottom of the cylinder is closed except for a small hole that allows a thermocouple to pass through. An infrared heat source may be provided to heat the cylinder. The balance chamber can be thermally isolated from the furnace using an actively cooled plate and a system of heat shields disposed between the furnace and balance chamber. A thermocouple disk is further provided to limit gas flow in the furnace and increase reliability of sample weight measurements.

Abstract: A variable hand placement sports equipment handle, such as a lacrosse stick handle, hockey stick handle, or field hockey stick handle, that includes a shaft and at least one overlay attached to the shaft at a location of frequent hand placement. The overlays are specially located and structured to provide the shaft with structural and tactile features that correspond to and accommodate the way in which a player moves his hands along the shaft and grips the shaft. The structural and tactile features, such as ribs, grooves, and hourglass and conical shapes, are located on the shaft to enhance a player's control of the shaft when performing various skills.

Abstract: To provide a muscle strength increasing device for a pressure muscle training method that can easily be tied around a region to be compressed. A muscle strength increasing device has a main belt 10 and a tie-down belt 20. A ring 11A and a loop-shaped belt 12A are fastened to the one end and the other end, respectively, of the main belt 10. The main belt 10 and the tie-down belt 20 are provided with two-dimensional fasteners 16, 21 for fastening. In order to tie the muscle strength increasing device around the region to be compressed, the region to be compressed is first passed through a loop of the main belt 10 that is formed by passing one end of the main belt 10 through the belt 12A. Then, the end of the tie-down belt 20 is passed through the ring 11A and turned right back. Thereafter, the tie-down belt 20 is pulled and the tie-down belt 20 is fastened to the main belt 10.

One embodiment includes a stop member, a left sidewall connected to the stop member, a right sidewall connected to the stop member, and a scoop connecting the left sidewall to the right sidewall opposite the stop member. The scoop is disposed about 25.5 cm from the stop member. The widest point of lacrosse head is in a catching section disposed from about 6 cm to about 17 cm from the stop member. The left sidewall is convex with respect to the interior area of the head at a portion of the left sidewall between the widest point and the scoop. The right sidewall is convex at a portion of the right sidewall between the widest point and the scoop. In another embodiment, the sidewalls rise from the plane of the scoop and include thong holes to provide channeled thongs.

In a further aspect of this embodiment, the shaft has a shaft axis, the opening of the collar has an opening axis, the socket of the juncture has a socket axis, and at least one of the socket axis, the opening axis, and the shaft axis is offset, when viewed from a side elevation of the lacrosse stick facing an exterior of a sidewall of the head.
