  • Patent number: 6890525
Abstract: cis-Jasmone has been discovered to be useful as a semiochemical that changes the behaviour of insects and/or the physiology of plants. It has direct signalling roles with plant-feeding aphids, in attraction of aphid predators and parasitoids, and may act as an airborne signal inducing production of volatile plant semiochemicals, including the monoterpene (E)-?-ocimene, that stimulate foraging by parasitoids. It is an extremely benign compound having, to human beings, a pleasant aroma and gives a long-lasting effect after removal of the stimulus.

Date of Patent: May 10, 2005

  • Patent number: 6787315
Abstract: Methods of identifying ligand binding sites in a target molecule such as a polynucleotide or polypeptide, as well as methods for determining whether a particular site in a target molecule is at or near the ligand binding site, are provided. Ligand binding affinities corresponding to both the target molecule and a modified version thereof are compared, preferably using mass spectral analysis. The modified molecules, or test molecules, incorporate a modification capable of modulating ligand binding affinity when located at or near the ligand binding sites. Binding site information is derived from the known position of the modification.

    Filed: July 31, 2002
Date of Patent: September 7, 2004

  • Patent number: 6750344
Abstract: The present invention provides monocyclic, bicyclic and oligomeric amine compounds with at least two sites of diversity. These compounds are formed from monocyclic scaffolds which can be cyclized to form bicyclic amine scaffolds. These can then be reacted with building blocks to form the amine compounds of the invention. This invention further provides libraries or monocyclic, bicyclic and oligomeric amine compounds. Also provided are methods for preparing monocyclic, bicyclic and oligomeric amine compounds and libraries thereof. The present invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions of the monocyclic, bicyclic and oligomeric amine compounds.

  • Patent number: 6391540
Abstract: The present invention is directed to assays for detecting antibodies in a sample in a single incubation step. The assays employ universal solid phases and/or universal detectable markers, and facilitate the detection and differentiation of antigens from the same source or from different sources in a single test sample. The present invention includes test kits for performing the methods according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 6261764
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an antigen diluent or buffer for antigens, in particular HCV recombinant antigens, comprising a reducing agent. The antigen diluent or buffer serves as a stabilizing buffer for the antigens. The present invention is also directed to antigen diluents or buffers for use in an automated immunoassay.
