Abstract: A locking ring includes an annular split ring portion with a U-shaped cross section and resiliently separable end portions, with each end formed into an L-shaped wall portion terminating in a serration. When the ends of the locking ring are brought together, the serrations intermesh, and the wall portions form a rectangular enclosure. Substantially solid front and rear housings portions, each containing a hole for receiving a barrel lock and an external groove, fit into the enclosure. The rear housing portion is attached to one wall portion, with its external groove fitting over the rear lip of the U-shaped cross section of the enclosure. The front housing portion is attached to the other wall portion, with its groove fitting over the front lip. When the locking ring is closed, the front housing portion slides over the rear housing portion until the lock receiving holes align. The locking ring also includes a replaceable seal retainer.

Abstract: A para-spinal retractor for use during surgery which includes a planar ellipsoidal ring and a plurality of retractor blades which mount in the ring. The ring has a series of generally rectangular openings on either side of the major axis, and the blades have upturned rectangular cross-sections to slidably fit the openings. The blades are set in the tissue and rotated to a vertical position so that the ring openings engage the blades to maintain the retraction. The blades have angled facets and sharp tips, and are constructed so that when blades are engaged with the ring the facets project downwardly and towards the center of the ring.

Abstract: The key comprises a shank and a plurality of bits which are mounted on said shank for limited rotation relative thereto. Each bit has outwardly extending projections for engagement with the tumblers of a lock. The lock comprises a case provided with an axially extending groove. A rotor is rotatably mounted in the case and is provided with a slot. A plurality of tumblers are mounted in the rotor and each is provided with a notch. A fence member is provided which, when the notches on the tumblers are aligned with the slot, is accommodated within the notches and the rotor, and permits the rotor to be rotated relative to the case. When the notches on the tumblers are not aligned with the slot, the fence member is confined within the groove in the case and the slot, thereby preventing rotation of the rotor relative to the case. Each tumbler is provided with a central aperture to accommodate the shank of the key and is further provided with a notch to accommodate an outwardly extending projection on the key.

Abstract: A dispenser for conductive liquids which includes appropriate circuit elements to measure the volume of liquid dispensed therethrough, and particularly useful in the bar and restaurant trade. The dispenser also includes circuitry to record the number of times it is removed from a container. Probes are provided for actuating a display and for remote recording and reading.

Abstract: A lockable clamp ring for securing an electric meter to a meter housing flange, which incorporates a unitary structure with moveable parts. The ends of the split ring are held within a Y-shaped housing and a similar shaped spreader which are manipulated to hold the ends of the ring closed in a locked position, and open when it is desired to remove the ring.

Abstract: A frangible seal is provided for use with cylindrical access and key holes. The seal is made of a tearable and pliable material, and includes teeth and a score line. The teeth hold the seal in the key hole until the seal is destroyed and removed by unraveling it along the score line.

Abstract: An improved storing unit for the storage of different sizes of nuts, bolts, nails and the like within separated jars, each jar having a screw cap thereupon and which includes an upward loop for being removably suspended from a hook, the hooks being arranged in rows on the underside of sliding bars that slide into an underside grooves of a shelf or board so that a large number of the jars are thus suspended therefrom so to provide a heat storage for the various small items.
