Abstract: A clamp structure which is provided with at least one pair of plastically deformable ear-like folds located on opposite sides of a center longitudinal cut in the clamping band and spaced in the circumferential direction by such a distance that they can be plastically deformed simultaneously by the use of a pincer-like tool. The pincer-like tool includes two sets of jaw-like members spaced from one another so as to permit simultaneous engagement of the two ear-like folds of a respective pair. The pincer-like tool may thereby have a relatively fixed center member forming a relatively fixed jaw-like member and two pivotally supported jaw-like members operable to be actuated toward one another. In the alternative, the pincer-like tool may include two sets of jaw-like members pivotally connected with each other whose points of pivotal connection are coupled with each other as also corresponding jaw-like members to assure movement in unison.

Abstract: An apparatus for examining the ocular fundus of an eye, in which an illuminating device is provided with non-overlapping apertures positioned substantially side by side, and in which an image of the apertures is formed on a part of the ocular fundus; an image of the illuminated ocular fundus is formed in a detecting plane in response to reflection from this fundus in such a manner as to provide a stereo pair of images of the ocular fundus in the detecting plane which are detected and then electronically processed and digitally analyzed thereby to display information about the ocular fundus under examination; the pupil position is also detected and the eye is then automatically aligned relative to the optical axis of the image, at least part of which is common to the axis of the illuminating device.
Abstract: A pipe connection in which pipe ends are provided with lips or flarings within the area of the joint edges and which includes a clamping ring having a U-shaped profile at the inner surface which is adapted to be tightened radially inwardly; the inner end faces of the clamping ring and/or the end faces of the lips or flarings are inclined toward the pipe axis so that the joining edges are urged toward one another in the tightened condition of the clamping ring; at least the radially outermost ring-shaped part of the clamping ring is provided with at least one plastically deformable, lug-shaped ear which is adapted to be tightened by contraction thereof and thereby establishes a permanent connection which can be reopened only by destruction of the clamping ring.
Abstract: The step-like support structure for flower-boxes which consists only of two tubular members interconnectd by a bow-shaped member and of a third tubular member connected to the center area of the bow-shaped member. The support member, made of relatively strong spring wire, are thereby detachably assembled to the two tubular members provided with appropriate folds therefor. The entire support structure can be shipped disassembled in shipping containers of relatively small volume.
Abstract: An indexing system for filling machines used to fill small containers transported on an endless conveyor belt, which includes a container-driven star-wheel, a member preventing the free rotation of the star-wheel and a cam-operated control for enabling and disabling the free, container-driven rotation of the star-wheel.
