Patent number: 4022464Abstract: A package is provided having a rotatable closure equipped with dispensing orifices. The orifices overlie a neck portion having indentations spaced about its inner edge and which when aligned with the dispensing orifices provide access to the contents of the package. The closure includes an inner annular skirt which has axial slots about its outer periphery. The slots direct the flow of the container contents through the neck indentations and out the orifices when the closure is rotated to an open position. When the closure is in a closed position, the orifices will be located above flat areas on the top edge of the container neck. The closure includes a downwardly depending inner wall having engagement means for rotatably connecting the closure to the container neck.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1975Date of Patent: May 10, 1977Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Keith Parker

Patent number: 4011672Abstract: A mounting frame positionable on a rigid surface as desk, table or the like, and adapted to mount photographs, decorative articles, a calendar or the like. This frame comprises triangular-like shaped end walls, a first side wall connecting the end walls, a second side wall substantially parallel to the first side wall and extending between and connecting the end walls. An additional central wall extends between and is attached to the end walls and is located between the two side walls. A clear sheet of flexible plastic material, or a clear sheet of plastic material having certain areas masked off to provide clear openings in the plastic sheet, is inserted between the end and side walls and flexed inwardly against the central wall so that the sheet has a concave configuration. This concave configuration substantially matches the top edge of the end walls which have a concave configuration.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1975Date of Patent: March 15, 1977Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Gerald M. Patent number: 4008526Abstract: A toy comprising a hollow body member having a plurality of differently configurated openings and a plurality of block members corresponding in cross-sectional configuration to the openings. In a preferred embodiment the hollow body member is formed as two halves joined together by a spring means which permits the member to be "broken apart" to release the individual pieces. The holes in the hollow body member are located on plane defining portions which are in turn located adjacent curvilinear surface portions of said hollow body member. The block members can be used individually as molds or foodstuff cutters, stacking blocks, etc.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1972Date of Patent: February 22, 1977Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventors: James B. Patent number: 3996692Abstract: A versatile toy suitable for use as a rolling or floating vehicle and including body axle and wheel parts that are capable of being interrelated one with another in a plurality of ways to create varying embodiments. The unique interrelationships spoken of are, for the most part, capable of creation because similar sized openings and recesses are maintained within the toy body member such that the toy axles therefor conform thereto. Likewise, the wheel constructions include a plurality of similarly sized openings thereby allowing same to be used in a variety of ways in conjunction with the axles and body member.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1975Date of Patent: December 14, 1976Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Robert H. C. M. Daenen

Patent number: 3984511Abstract: The method of forming, by rotational molding, a foamed polystyrene article that has a continuous covering of thermoplastic material such as low density polyethylene. The method requires the utilization of polystyrene beads that contain substantially less than the maximum possible percentage of blowing or expanding agent. A high temperature, low residence time heating step is found to be adequate for the formation of the article.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1974Date of Patent: October 5, 1976Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Sidney G. Lammers

Patent number: 3979531Abstract: A screen or plate is positioned above and adjacent the normal fluidized pulverulent material top surface level in a typical fluidized bed construction. The screen extends over substantially the entirety of the bed and has enlarged openings therein of a size suitable for the acceptance of the articles that are to be immersed in the pulverulent or powder material. Screen placement within the fluidized bed is also such that upon article immersion into the entrained powder bed, the magnitude of the powder level increase insures that there is at least contact between the screen and bed top surface which will stabilize the bed top surface and preserve the continuity thereof during article immersion and removal. Similarly, an intermittently operable material feeding system is contemplated to assure that a substantially uniform and constant amount of pulverulent material is maintained in the bed during the coating operation.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1974Date of Patent: September 7, 1976Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Arthur D. Heller

Patent number: 3973666Abstract: An orientation or transfer device that is adaptable to either accurately align a plurality of articles of glassware simultaneously on a conveyor and on centers that may be easily adjusted to accommodate the users needs or to move a single row of such ware from one conveyor system to another. The device is particularly well adapted for inclusion in a glassware coating system that is continuously operable to apply a coating of thermo-plastic polymer resin to the exterior surface of the ware. However, the device is easily modified to form transfer apparatus that will efficiently move ware from a stacked arrangement on a conveyor across a dead plate to a single line conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1975Date of Patent: August 10, 1976Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Donald F. Patent number: 3965852Abstract: A glassware coating process and apparatus including ware handling, heating, coating and transfer equipment that is continuously operable to apply a coating of thermoplastic polymer resin to the exterior surface of the ware. The apparatus, among other things, includes a clamping mechanism for gripping heated ware about the finish thereof, which mechanism is immersible in a fluidized bed of the thermoplastic polymer resin along with the ware. Means feed pressurized gas to separate reciprocable cooperating elements of the clamping member to both cool said member and to inhibit polymer deposition on the grasped portion of the wave. Similarly, the invention incorporates a ware orientation device that accurately aligns the ware immediately prior to the seizure thereof by the clamping mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1975Date of Patent: June 29, 1976Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.Inventor: Donald F.
