    Abstract: A pyrotechnic composition is formulated which, when burned, produces red ke and bright flame. The composition is comprised of between 25 and 65 percent of ammonium iodate, between 30 and 45 percent of iodoform, between 0 and 5 percent of diatomaceous earth and the balance of a fuel selected from a group consisting of bismuth, molybdenum, and a mixture of bismuth and magnesium.
