  • Patent number: 7335273
Abstract: A method of making mutually-reinforced elastic strand/film composites and laminates in which film breakage, strand breakage, and strand alignment problems are minimized or avoided. The method includes casting an elastomeric adhesive film onto a chill roll, extruding elastic strands onto the film while the film is on a chill roll, and stretching the film and strand composite. The stretched composite may be laminated between two facing sheets. Additionally, tension in the composite may be controlled through film composition, strand composition, add-on rate, stretching the composite, and combinations of any of these approaches.

  • Patent number: 7324320
Abstract: A device for magnetizing a magnet system preferably having several pulse-generator circuits which are mutually arranged so that their magnetic fields superimpose in a cumulative manner. Each pulse-generator circuit includes a capacitor element, a magnetization coil electrically connected to the capacitor element and a switch element by way of which actuation the magnetization coil can be impinged with a current pulse of a limited pulse duration arising by the discharge of the capacitor element, and thus the build-up of a magnetic field may be triggered. The pulse-generator circuit is built up so that the pulse duration of the current pulse is limited to a value between 10 ?s and 500 ?s. With such short pulse durations, undesirable heating of the magnetization coil is short so that the device may be applied in automatic production installations with cycle times of below 1 s.

  • Patent number: 7320699
Abstract: A ligature device for body parts, with a closure housing, having a base wall, two lateral walls, a cover wall on the upper side thereof and a ligature strap, which may be coupled or is detachably coupled at one end of the closure housing, by a clipping buckle which may be introduced from the rear between an intermediate wall and the cover wall. The above is run or may be run with the other free end thereof between a rocker, pivotably mounted on the base wall and an intermediate wall, arranged at a separation above, through the closure housing, to form a loop and may be clamped by the rocker against a front section of the intermediate wall, connected to the closure housing. Easy manipulation is achieved with a simple construction, whereby the intermediate wall includes a sprung section, projecting from the upper side, by which the rear section of the clipping buckle is raised and pressed, in the assembled state, with the back upper face thereof against a counter support, fixed to the housing.

  • Patent number: 7247215
Abstract: A method of making stretchable absorbent articles includes the steps of providing a continuous substrate layer, providing one or more streams of adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles, shaping the one or more streams of adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles, depositing the adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles on the substrate layer to form a plurality of shaped absorbent cores bound to the substrate layer, and separating the absorbent cores from each other. The absorbent cores thus formed do not prevent stretching of the substrate layer. The combination of absorbent core and substrate layer can be used in a wide variety of personal care absorbent articles and medical absorbent articles.

  • Patent number: 7243317
Abstract: A checking mechanism for complete full-chip ESD protection circuit design and layout verification at layout level identifies all of both intentional and parasitic ESD devices contained in the design layout file and compiles a netlist. The checking mechanism then determines the critical operating parameters of the identified ESD devices and determines if the parasitic devices will negatively effect ESD protection performance. The checking mechanism then determines if the intentional devices meet design specifications; eliminates parasitic devices which will not negatively effect ESD protection from the netlist, and retains those parasitic devices which may lead to ESD protection malfunction. Design layout verification and faults are then reported.

  • Patent number: 7229515
Abstract: A method of producing refastenable side seams in an absorbent garment results in an absorbent garment that is adapted to easy application and removal. The refastenable side seams can be produced in either a cross direction, wherein the width of the product is the machine direction, or a machine direction wherein the length of the product is the machine direction. Each of the refastenable side seams includes a lap side seam, which puts the seams under shear strain, as opposed to peel forces. The resulting garment can be opened and closed on either a left side or a right side of the garment.

  • Patent number: 7185588
Abstract: An inflator device including a housing defining a storage chamber and a supply of gas generant material disposed within the storage chamber. The inflator device includes an initiator assembly having an initiator in actuating communication with the supply of gas generant material. A moisture barrier member is disposed between the initiator assembly and the supply of gas generant material. The moisture barrier member acts to prevent moisture transmission from the initiator assembly to the supply of gas generant material. Upon actuation of the initiator, however, the moisture barrier member ruptures to permit reaction initiating communication between the initiator and at least a portion of the supply of gas generant material contained within the inflator device.
