  • Patent number: 6635931
Abstract: An all-mode, bonding pad-oriented ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection structure, protects ICs against ESD pulses of all modes in all directions. A unique quasi-symmetrical layout design is devised to improve ESD structure. Physical symmetry and rounded layout provide uniform current and thermal distribution as well as symmetrical electrical operation characteristics. The ESD structure allows tunable triggering voltage, low holding voltage, low impedance, low leakage, fast response time and low parasitic effect. The ESD structure can easily be placed under or surrounding a bonding pad and consumes little extra silicon. The ESD structure can be implemented in commercial BiCMOS processes and is suitable for multiple-supply, mixed-signal, parasitic-sensitive RF and high-pin-count ICs.

  • Patent number: 6613268
Abstract: A method for producing super fine meltblown fibers increases the length of the meltblown jet thermal core to increase the dwell time of the extruded thermoplastic polymer within the jet thermal core. Through use of the method it is practical to use low viscosity resins and further to provide meltblown nonwovens with superior barrier properties to the passage of fluids and particularly gases. The method further provides a useful means for blooming internal additives to the surface of the fibers.

  • Patent number: 6613703
Abstract: A cyclodextrin-modified thermoplastic porous layer material is prepared by coating the surface of a fibrous nonwoven web, open-celled foam, porous film or the like with a chemical composition including a cyclodextrin compound, and then irradiating the coated fabric to induce a chemical reaction between the cyclodextrin compound and the underlying layer material. The resulting cyclodextrin-modified layer material has durable hydrophilic properties useful in topsheets for absorbent articles, and entrapment capabilities useful in water filters, blood filters, controlled delivery articles and protective garments.

  • Patent number: 6557300
Abstract: A propping support for a chest, having a lid rest fastened on an inside surface of the lid of a chest, and a wall rest connected with the body of the chest. The lid rest and the wall rest are connected by a support device which secures the lid of the chest in a flipped-open position. To improve operational safety, the propping support has a spring holder with a spring element. An actuating element, which is prestressed by a spring against the spring element, can be displaced in a guide between two tilt positions of the chest lid when the lid of the chest is closed. The lid rest and the wall rest are coupled to the spring holder by swivel bearings.

  • Patent number: 6547105
Abstract: A plastic container having a storage chamber which graduates from a shoulder section into a bottle neck, in such a way that the length of the bottle neck can be changed about its axis. Thus, this invention provides a constriction between the shoulder section and a pour-out area. The constriction is adjacent the shoulder section and is followed by an area which can be axially compressed. The constriction can serve as a sealing area. Liquid, free-flowing and pourable media can be discharged in doses using a metering element which is fixed to the top of the bottle neck and which penetrates the constriction. By exerting pressure on the metering element, it is possible to establish an open or closed connection between the metering element and the storage chamber of the plastic container.

  • Patent number: 6517848
Abstract: Methods of using absorbent personal care articles, such a diapers and adult incontinent briefs, comprising an absorbent article and having disposed thereon a skin irritant sequestering effective amount of an unmodified particulate skin irritant sequestering agent, and a lipophilic skin health benefit agent are provided. An unmodified particulate skin irritant sequestering agent can be a clay, such as bentonite or laponite unmodified by organic amphiphilic compounds. A lipophilic skin health benefit agent can be stearic acid, isoparrafin, petrolatum, and a combination thereof. The skin irritant can be bound to the sequestering agent either on an individual's skin or on the absorbent article.

  • Patent number: 6503233
Abstract: An absorbent article with improved body fit wherein a combination of downward-deflecting crease lines and an upward-deflecting shaping line are used in outer and central absorbent members, respectively, to achieve a form-fitting geometry in the crotch region while also enhancing control over fluid flow in the article. Embodiments with wicking barriers between the outer and central absorbent members are especially useful in achieving leakage reduction.

  • Patent number: 6489567
Abstract: A device for connecting bus bars of a bus bar system with connectors of a piece of electric installation equipment using connecting pieces, which are cut, angled and/or bent from a rectangular flat material. The cost for different bar elements for the connection can be reduced without a need to surrender adaptation to the transmission of current strenghts of different sizes because the connecting pieces are respectively formed by several identical bar elements which are held, vertically with respect to their width, at a distance from each other which corresponds to a thickness of the flat material. The bar elements are maintained apart by a packaging holder which has alternating spacers and holding plates perpendicular with respect to a broad side of the bar elements. The holding plates delimit receivers for the bar elements on both sides of the packaging holders.

  • Patent number: 6419865
Abstract: Bonded fluff structures and a method for producing such bonded fluff structures in which a pulp sheet having a material suitable for producing fluff and a heat activatable fiber material is fiberized to produce a mixture of fluff and heat activatable fibers. The mixture is contacted with a hot air stream, heating the heat activatable fibers to an activation temperature. The resulting heated mixture is then deposited onto a forming structure, forming a bonded fluff/fiber composite matrix structure.

  • Patent number: 6409416
Abstract: A rack for a switch cabinet, having frame pieces which in the floor area of the switch cabinet form a base frame surrounding an opening which can be closed by base panels. The base frame can be or is connected to a base. By simple, lengthened U-profile frame sections and corner elements configured as bent, cut pieces, a simple, economical base frame for the rack is created which requires little space and can be used for fastening the base panels directly without the need for additional structured supporting shapes.

  • Patent number: 6398903
Abstract: A method for applying an edge protector to a plate made of a brittle material, such as glass or a glass-ceramic or ceramic material, in particular a cooking surface. The edge protector can be applied to a plate made of a brittle material without expensive tools and without prefabricated frame elements because the plate is positioned, with the top leading, in a lower tool element, and an upper tool element is placed on the lower tool element with the positioned plate. A hollow space, which is open toward the top of the upper tool element and defines the shape of the edge, is delimited by the lower tool element and the upper tool element in the area of the edge of the plate. A cold-setting sealing compound is metered into the hollow space, and the plate, together with the edge protector, is removed from the tool following the setting of the sealing compound.
