  • Patent number: 8142084
Abstract: A dome cover (6) is manufactured by injection molding by steps of: forming a cavity (14) having the shape of the dome cover (6) between an upper mold (12) and a lower mold (13) for an injection molding die (11), providing a gate port (16) for injecting melt resin at a position (of the upper mold (12)) corresponding to the zenithal portion (15) of the dome cover (6), and injecting the melt resin into the cavity (14) through the gate port (16). The resin injected from the center portion (the portion corresponding to the zenithal portion (15) of the dome cover (6)) of the cavity (14) flows uniformly toward the circumference of the cavity (14). Therefore, variations in pressure and temperature of the resin in the cavity (14) are restrained and, consequently, molding irregularity of the manufactured dome cover (6) is restrained. According to the method of manufacturing the dome cover as described above, generation of the partial molding irregularity on the manufactured dome cover is restrained.

  • Patent number: 8144199
Abstract: Disclosed is a moving object automatic tracking apparatus that includes a movement detector for detecting movement of a moving object from an image obtained in time series from an image input portion. A tracker tracks the moving object by controlling a platform of the image input portion in a direction of movement of the moving object based on a movement detection result of the movement detector. An area manager manages a registered preset position and new registration of a preset position indicating an area for executing tracking by the tracker and movement detection by the movement detector. A patrol monitor conducts monitoring while patrolling plural preset positions set and managed by the area manager, and when a position in which the moving object is tracked and lost differs from the initialized preset position, the lost position is newly added and registered as an adaptive preset position.

  • Patent number: 8139039
Abstract: An electronic writing tablet is composed of one or more layers on which an image is formed and can be selectively erased. One aspect of the invention is a bistable cholesteric writing tablet on which an image is formed while applying writing pressure. The image can be fully erased and new images written on the tablet. In addition, one can selectively erase any or all portions of the written image to restore the original background color. Another aspect of the invention is a multi-color stacked writing tablet in which a color of an image is selected (usually by applying a suitable voltage) while applying writing pressure using an instrument such as an untethered stylus on the surface of the tablet. The writing tablet includes at least two or three stacked layers of bistable cholesteric liquid crystal material. Selected colors can be additively mixed to achieve intermediate colors as desired.
