Abstract: A tray for storage and transportation of multiple pin grid array (PGA) and K6 integrated circuit components, each having a planar housing and plurality of terminal pins arranged in spaced rows. The tray has a framework for supporting upstanding ribs that interfit between adjacent integrated circuit components. Each upstanding rib lies along an axis in one of two sets of intersecting axes and aligns with and fits between certain spaced rows to position the terminal pin in precise alignment with the tray. The rib axes are intersecting and oblique to the general tray orientation.
Abstract: A wound musical string includes a core wire and a wrapped wire covering about the core wire. End turns of the wrapped wire covering are coextensive portions of transition sections of the core wire. The transition sections have equilateral triangular, square or other cross sections such that the cross section exhibits equal principal moments of inertia. Consequently the inharmonicity of the string about two axes will be the same and the string will not produce false beats.
Abstract: A distribution apparatus is provided which, if a short circuit occurs in a secondary line from a branch output terminal of the apparatus or in terminal equipment connected to the secondary line, stops supplying electric currents to the concerned branch output terminal. In the distribution apparatus, external taps (22) which serve as distribution output terminals are connected to a current passage network (26). A positive thermistor (27) is connected to each external tap (22) in the current passage network (26).
Abstract: An endoscope has an elongated sheath that follows a curved path. The sheath houses a plurality of relay lens sets designed to have a maximum usable field of view that is greater than the size of an image to be produced. Discrete lens elements within the image transfer guide allow the image to offset to the edges of the maximum usable field of view thereby to allow the axes through the individual sets to progressively shift in angle to form the curved path.

Abstract: An inflatable medical device for delivery of medication to an organ in the body having a multi-lumen catheter and a hollow, inflatable channel-like medication deliverable balloon at the distal end of the catheter. A plurality of conduits extend along the balloon between the walls of the balloon for delivery of medications. Each conduit includes an array of closely spaced apertures for allowing medications in the conduits to transfer out of the conduits into a surrounding vessel after the balloon is inflated.
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for treating an irregularity in a wall of a vessel of a patient defined by an irregular or afflicted wall portion with adjacent normal wall portions comprises a catheter having a distal end portion for being guided through the vessel to the site of the irregularity. A balloon associated with said distal end portion of the catheter for selective inflating to contact the walls of the vessel urges a stent carried by the distal end portion of the catheter in a constricted condition for passage through the vessel into an expanded form with the stent spanning the afflicted wall portion and contacting the adjacent wall portions. The catheter is formed with lumens for inflating the balloon, for receiving a guidewire for guiding the catheter through the vessel, and for connecting a port in the catheter proximate the afflicted wall portion to enable delivery of a therapeutic agent into the vessel to contact the stent and the irregular wall portion.
Abstract: A data network with a remote data facility for providing redundant data storage and for enabling concurrent point-in-time backup operations. A local data processing system with a data facility stores a data base and processes applications. A second system, physically separated from the first system, includes a data facility that normally mirrors the data in the first system. In a backup mode, the second system is enabled to transfer data from its data facility to a backup facility concurrently with, but independently of, the operation of the first system. On completion of the backup operation, the second system reconnects with and synchronizes with the first system thereby to reestablish the mirroring operation of the second system.
Abstract: An apparatus for making a lightweight, thin wall, seamless, hollow structural profile using a simple mold. The apparatus includes a base for supporting a mandril and a two piece outer form which bolts together assembled. A mixture is poured or injected into the space between the mandril and the form to produce a profile upon hardening of the mixture of either cement, fiberglass or polymers. The hollow area of the structural profile may be filled with various materials. The base comprises a plurality of upwardly rising columns or blocks and posts around the inside perimeter of the mandril and blocks around the outside perimeter of the form for proper positioning of the mandril and the form, which are separated by a predetermined distance in accordance with the desired features and dimensions of the structural profile.
Abstract: A veneer drying apparatus comprises a pair of upper and lower hot plates connected to a heating unit and a plurality of steam escape grooves formed in the opposing press surfaces of the upper and lower hot plates. The apparatus further comprises intermittently driven endless belts and driving and driven rollers on the unloading and loading ends, respectively, of the lower hot plate. The endless belts are trained over the driving and driven rollers for transferring veneer P over the upper surface of the lower hot plate. Each endless belt has numerous apertures formed in the entire surface thereof in a regular pattern. The driving rollers have numerous protrusions formed on the periphery thereof for engaging in the apertures formed in the endless belts. The endless belts are smoothly driven by rotation of the driving rollers due to the protrusion-aperture engagement.
Abstract: A tray for storage and transportation of multiple staggered integrated circuit components, each having a planar housing and plurality of terminal pins arranged in spaced rows. Positioning fingers provide initial positioning to align the terminal pins and ribs. Pedestals define a support plane and support the integrated circuit with the terminal pins spaced from a base plate.
