Abstract: A switchgear installation has a cubicle with a door to provide access thereinto, and a low voltage circuit breaker is mounted therein and accessible through the door. Coupled to the circuit breaker is a logic module, and a portable user interface module is releasably mounted on the exterior of the cubicle and operatively connected to the logic module to display information concerning the operation of the breaker and to provide an interface for the user to interact with the logic module and thereby with the breaker. The user interface module includes a battery providing the required power for setting and monitoring the functions of the breaker.
Abstract: A method, machine system and thread cutting device for producing a threaded projection on a plate-shaped workpiece and in particular on a sheet-metal workpiece. A workpiece lug (2) is cut with a threaded contour in the principal plane of the workpiece and at least a section of the workpiece lug (2) featuring at least one threaded contour (5, 6) is permanently bent in the form of a threaded projection extending at the desired angle relative to the principal plane of the workpiece. A machine system (9) for implementing the method encompasses a cutting device for the relief cutting of workpiece lugs (2) as well as a thread cutting device. Also included is a bending device (15) by means of which at least a section of the workpiece lug (2) provided with at least one threaded contour (5, 6) can be permanently bent relative to the principal plane of the workpiece. A thread cutting device of the machine system (9) is appropriately configured for that purpose.

Abstract: A machine for cutting plate-shaped workpieces, incorporates a tool guide (7), an operating handle (13), and a cutting tool (6) which revolves along the tool guide (7). By moving the operating handle (13), the tool guide (7) with its cutting tool (6) can be shifted from an idle position into an active position. In its idle position the cutting tool (6) is disengaged from, and, in its active position it is engaged in, the workpiece to be processed. Provided between the operating handle (13) and the tool guide (7) is a variable ratio transmission mechanism (14, 18) with a transmission ratio which varies with the movement of the operating handle (13) as a function of the position of the tool guide (7) and its cutting tool (6) relative to the workpiece.
Abstract: A winterizing seal for a pool skimmer includes a cover plate dimensioned to overlap the margins of the skimmer opening and having a support portion on its rear surface which extends into the skimmer passageway. A resiliently deformable gasket is provided on the support portion and is configured and dimensioned to bear on the side walls of the skimmer passageway to provide a leak-proof seal between the cover plate and the skimmer passageway. The gasket is pressed against the side walls of the skimmer passageway by a compression plate which is coupled to the cover plate by a nut.
Abstract: A blow molded synthetic resin container having a body of generally V-shaped cross section defined by a pair of V-shaped side walls, end walls extending therebetween, and a bottom wall. A cylindrical neck is open at its upper end, and an upwardly inclined shoulder extends between the upper ends of the side and end walls and the lower end of the neck. One of the side walls has a pair of wall portions which converge inwardly of the body towards the center axis of the body and the other of the side walls has wall portions which converge outwardly from the axis of the body. The other panel has a recess therein for a label.

Abstract: A machine for the multi-stroke, continuous slotting of plate-shaped workpieces and especially sheet metal plates is described. A slotting tool (16) and the workpiece are movable in a forward direction relative to each other in a gate-cutting function and in at least one subsequent slot cutting stroke. This is followed by a return movement in the opposite direction (32) over a return length (A) that corresponds at a maximum to the length of the previously laterally cut slot. This is followed by a cross-cutting stroke in which the strip of material (31) that was laterally cut in the gate-cutting function and the minimum of one subsequent slotting stroke is severed at a distance from the point of its connection to the remaining workpiece. The slotting tool (16) is driven by a cam drive with a drive control, a return-drive system with a return-drive control and a forward-feed drive system with a feed-drive control.
Abstract: A method and device for determining the length (b) of at least one of two legs (13, 14), of a workpiece (12) bent toward each other at a bending angle (?) requires location of the workpiece (12) in a defined position. The position of the bending angle vertex (S) and the position of the end (E) of the leg (13, 14) to be measured are determined. Based on the position of the bending angle vertex (S) and of the end (E), the length (b) is calculated as the distance between the bending angle vertex (S) and the end (E). The measuring apparatus includes a system serving to determine the position of the bending angle vertex (S), a unit serving to determine the position of the end (E) and an evaluation unit which, based on the position of the bending angle vertex (S) and of the end (E), calculates the length (b) as the distance between the bending angle vertex (S) and the end (E).

Abstract: A tool for machining workpieces by motion of the machining tool relative to the workpiece has a support extending in the X-axis over a work support table and movable in the Y-axis. A machining tool housing is movable on the support in the Y-axis. A portion of the housing containing the machining tool is movable with respect to the mounted portion in the Y-axis within a limited range of motion. A computer control effects operation of drive motors to move the housing along the support and the support along the machining tool table to machine a workpiece supported on said worktable in X and Y axes, and the computer control can also effect operation of another drive motor to rapidly move of the housing portion and machining tool in the Y-axis when the desired length of motion in the Y-axis is within its range of motion.

Abstract: A skimmer guard has first and second brackets configured to bear against opposite walls of a skimmer passageway, and a plurality of resiliently deflectable ribs extending between the first and second brackets for blocking objects from passing into the skimmer. The ribs are configured and dimensioned to bias the first and second brackets against the second wall of the skimmer passageway to hold guard in a fixed position.
Abstract: A system for the reforming of a laser beam having a circular sector shaped beam cross section into a laser beam with a rectangular beam cross section, incorporates a mirror whose surface is shaped as the circular sector of a reflective parabolic rotational body. With only one mirror, and with only minor image aberrations, the circular sector shaped laser beam can be reformed into a rectangular laser beam.

Abstract: A four stroke engine including a crankshaft. A power piston within a first cylinder connected to the crankshaft such that the power piston reciprocates through a power stroke and an exhaust stroke. A compression piston within a second cylinder is connected to the crankshaft such that the compression piston reciprocates through an intake stroke and a compression stroke. A gas passage interconnects the first and second cylinders and includes an inlet valve and an outlet valve defining a pressure chamber therebetween. An inlet manifold is in fluid communication with an inlet valve of the second cylinder. A bypass valve is in fluid communication with the second cylinder and the inlet manifold, wherein during a compression stroke the bypass valve allows a portion of the air to bypass the inlet valve and exhaust into the inlet manifold to provide a variable compression ratio.

Abstract: A machine tool having a C-shaped frame has a workpiece processing station adjacent the open end of the throat, and an elongated guide rail extends in a first axis perpendicularly to the throat. A carrier extends along the guide rail, and a multiplicity of guide units are spaced along and movable on the carrier in the first axis. Workpiece clamping units are carried by the guide units, and drive means moves the guide units on the carrier. The guide rail is movable in the throat along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis, and a second carrier supported on the frame extends in a second axis parallel to the throat. A multiplicity of guide elements is spaced along and movable on the second carrier and supports the guide rail for movement in the second axis of the second guide rail.
