  • Patent number: 6743519
Abstract: An improved leather formed of a leather having an internal matrix and a fiber matrix coupled to the leather matrix, the coupling creating a supplementary fiber matrix in the leather which enhances a characteristic of the leather. The improved leather includes fibers from the fiber matrix which pierce the leather in many locations and interlocking with other fibers both within the internal matrix of the leather and on a first surface of the leather. The improved leather is useful for gloves, shoes, garments, luggage and upholstery.

  • Patent number: 6709297
Abstract: A multi directional swiveling outlet adaptor which includes a plug assembly for connecting to a power source, a multiple outlet module rotatably coupled to the plug assembly so that an electrical connection is maintained as the plug assembly is rotated relative to the outlet module and a light assembly coupled to the outlet module for providing a visual indication that the plug is connected to a power source. The swivel outlet adaptor has three orthogonally oriented outlet adaptors designed to reduce the potential for tangling of power cords and maintains a low profile equivalent to the thickness of a plug.

  • Patent number: 5187814
Abstract: A heated garment such as a mitten, glove or sock, for heating at least a portion of the body part with a heater pack. The mitten, glove or sock covers at least a portion of a body part and has at least one opening for insertion of the body part. A chamber assembly is coupled to the inside of the garment for creating an elongated chamber in the garment accessible through the garment opening. A pocket assembly is coupled to the garment for receiving the heater pack and is adapted to be removably inserted to the elongated chamber. Inserting the pocket assembly with the heater pack into the elongated chamber of the garment transmits heat to the wearer's covered body part in an efficient fashion without unnecessarily restricting mobility or increasing bulkiness.

  • Patent number: 5067175
Abstract: A padded garment covering at least a portion of a body part including gloves, mittens, boots, pants, sweaters and other wearing apparel. A garment panel for forming an outer surface of the garment includes at least first and second panel members. Each of the first and second panel members includes a panel section and a seam tolerance section. Each panel section and seam tolerance section is separated by a seam location. Padding protects at least a portion of a body part. A chamber member is coupled to the first and second panel members at their respective seam locations to create a chamber for containing the padding positioned proximate to the outer surface of the garment. A coupling, such as sewn seam or heat sealed seam is used to join the chamber member and the seam locations of the first and second panel members. The chamber member is joined to the garment panel between the seam locations of the first and second panel members.

  • Patent number: 5007502
Abstract: A self-leveling foldable saw horse including a trestle formed as a downwardly opening box, two pairs of legs, each of which has three working surfaces for leveling the pairs of legs, stably supporting the weight on the trestle and enabling rotation of the legs from a closed position to an opened position and two rods for supporting the legs. The first operating surface on each leg of a pair of legs is in contact with the first operating surface of the other leg of its pair and the second surfaces of each leg of pair are in contact with the underside of the top surface of the trestle when the saw horse is in the open position. Exerting pressure on the top surface of the trestle causes sliding adjustment of the first operating surfaces of each pair to level the trestle and stably support the saw horse on uneven surfaces. Two saw horses can be attached together in a compact, efficient manner with handles to transport the pair of saw horses for use on uneven ground surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4864695
Abstract: A closure mechanism for a tubular member, open-ended container or glove. A channel member coupled to the portion to be closed forms a channel of an opened length corresponding to a distance around the portion to be closed. The channel has a cross-sectional area and terminates with one or two closely spaced openings having an opening cross-sectional area. A stretchable cord is present within the channel and extends outward beyond at least one of the openings. The stretchable cord has an unstretched cross-sectional area and a stretched cross-sectional area. The unstretched cross-sectional area is larger than the stretched cross-sectional area and the opening cross-sectional area. By pulling on the portion of the stretchable cord extending out of the opening or openings, the stretchable cord takes on the stretched cross-sectional area at least proximate the opening or openings.

  • Patent number: 4837829
Abstract: A modular acoustic sound system for a room for two-way conversations without the need for switching. The system includes pairs of microphones each connected to a phase shifter so that in-phase signals inputted to the microphone pair are shifted 180.degree. apart. The out-of-phase signals are input to a summing circuit having an amplified output which drives a plurality of loudspeakers. A portion of the audible loudspeaker outputs enters the microphone pair, is phase shifted, and cancelled out in the summing amplifier. Any number of loudspeaker/microphone pairs operate in the system and any microphone may be spoken into to drive every loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 4809889
Abstract: A display form for displaying clothing, shoes or jewelry. A first display member for supporting suitable articles is in the form of either a hand or a foot. A second display member for supporting suitable articles is also in the form of either a hand or a foot. A support member coupled between the first and second display members supports the first and second display members in spaced separation.
