Abstract: The present invention relates to a side view type or a direct view type endoscope which is used not only for examining the inner portion of stomachs and bowels, but also for cutting out or treating polyps on the wall of stomachs and bowels by an extractor which is inserted through an extractor leading tube of the endoscope. In said endoscope, the rear end portion of a wire guide tube of the extractor operating device is opened or can be opened for washing and sterilization of said wire guide tube.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a dot printer in which means are provided for detecting deterioration of dot print elements which print characters and so on and for detecting trouble caused by a print drive circuit. Print sensing elements are placed at a suitable point of a platen corresponding to a traverse range of dot print elements which are housed within a printing head and a mechanism for driving each dot print element is provided when said dot print elements move in front of the above-said print sensing elements sensing signal is generated when said dot print elements effect printing on the print sensing elements, to indicate the existence of trouble of the print drive circuit or dot print elements.
Abstract: The present invention discloses herewith a new and novel dot printer for printing characters or the like by a dot matrix, wherein print timing is automatically corrected in relationship to the spacing speed of printing elements so that uneven dot distance is eliminated.
Abstract: The invention provides for a cartridge for lubricant which is designed for use in an air line lubricator. The cartridge comprises a rigid sleeve defining an outlet nozzle for lubricant at its one end, with the other end being open and directed in use into the stream of pressure air flowing through the lubricator. A flexible sock with its mouth region secured within the sleeve acts physically to separate lubricant in the sleeve from the pressurized air, the body length of the sock being sufficient to permit exhaustion of lubricant from the sleeve. The sock may be secured within the sleeve at the outlet end thereof, midway there-along, or at its open end. In the latter case a method of charging the sleeve in accordance with a further aspect of the invention comprises locating a second sleeve within the cartridge sleeve so that during the charging process the sock is folded back on itself through the action of the secondary sleeve. After charging the secondary sleeve is withdrawn.

Abstract: The hollow rotating component such as a pulley, toothed wheel, drum and the like is mounted on a stationary hollow coaxial component in the form of a ring. The ring is coupled to a stationary support by means of a rigid mechanical part so arranged as to ensure that the internal space which is common to both components is left completely unobstructed and also given freedom of access. A detector or transducer for measuring deformations is mounted between the ring and the support.
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a soft contact lens to the surface of an eye is disclosed to include a thimble section, a cup section and a stem section therebetween. The soft contact lens is retained on the cup section by capillary attraction during placement. The diameter of the cup section is less than the diameter of the lens being placed in order to cause the capillary attraction between the cup section and lens section to be less than the capillary attraction between the lens and the surface of the eye thereby permitting sure and easy placement.
Abstract: This invention relates to foldable display containers, and more particularly, to such foldable display containers which are inexpensive and convenient to use.
Abstract: An adjustable waist band for jeans and the like is disclosed in which conventional brass-like snaps are utilized to accomplish the adjusting feature. The employment of brass-like snaps which are viewable makes it appear that the snaps are part of a normal, non-functional, ornamental design so that the adjustability of the waist band is achieved without detracting from the appearance of the jeans. Further, by employing brass-like snaps, the appearance of the jeans is even further enhanced.
Abstract: An integral cigarette holder and sheath or cover for a cigarette is disclosed in which the sheath or cover is formed of telescoped members. The cigarette is inserted within the holder and the telescoped cover is extended to permit a portion of the cigarette to be smoked. As the cigarette is smoked down to the distal end of the telescoped members, insufficient oxygen is present to permit the continued burning and smoking of the cigarette.
Abstract: This invention provides an ink mist type high speed printer in which an aperture board is provided between a first electrode and a second electrode across which a high voltage is applied. The aperture board is adapted to selectively control passage of ions generated from the second electrode, and a stream of ink mist is passed between said aperture board and first electrode so that the ions which have passed said aperture board will electrically charge the ink mist particles selectively to let the electrically charged ink mist particles deposit on a recording paper placed between the ink mist and first electrode to thereby print the desired dot matrix characters. This invention also features provision of electrostatic shields placed between said first electrode and ink mist stream and at places outside of the desired printing space to guard the aperture board against deposition of ink mist particles.
Abstract: A nuclear medicine imaging device is disclosed which provides tomographic sectional images of the human body subsequent to the administration of radio pharmaceuticals labelled with positron-emitting radionuclides. Signals representative of the distribution of the radionuclide within the patient are generated and are used in computerized tomography to reconstruct the region under examination. Elongated scintillation detectors are utilized to span a plurality of tomographic sections and positioning circuitry is utilized with the detectors for said tomographic sections. As an alternative embodiment, said detectors are arrayed coplanarly around the subject and generate suitable information for said computerized emission tomographic reconstruction.
Abstract: This invention provides for an improved high speed printer using electrostatic means. The paper used is ordinary paper that is first dried to increase its electrical resistance. The electrostatic image is produced directly on the ordinary paper and then the electrostatic image is developed and fixed thereon. The invention includes details of the heating means.
Abstract: A new and novel dot printer for printing characters of dot matrix or the like by sliding a slide member in the direction of a row, said slide member being provided with a plurality of dot printing elements which are arranged in line thereon at a predetermined distance, wherein plate springs are provided on both ends of the slide member as a guide, support and return mechanism so that guide, support as well as return power are assured for said slide member.
Abstract: In a conduit system for feeding water and nutrients to plants, the conduits are formed of thin, pliable, collapsible plastic foil. The plant is placed in the tube through slots in the tube and the conduit is placed upon a sloped platform so that nutrient in water solution fed in at one end of the conduit can drain through the conduit and out the other end thereof. A stick member to partially dam the flow of the solution through the conduit is used at the location of a plant root system in the conduit to assure adequate feeding of the root system, especially before the root system is well developed. The stick may be provided with legs thereby to form a bridge with a plurality of such bridges arranged to bridge over the tube at locations so spaced along the tube as to support a horizontally disposed vine substantially out of contact with the tube.
Abstract: A dot printer for printing characters and the like with a dot matrix which is capable of preventing irregular dot spacings by automatically compensating for the change of print timing resulting from a change in the speed of movement of the printing element.
Abstract: A high speed printer in which ions produced between the high voltage impressed electrodes are modulated and then passed through an ink mist to electrically charge the ink particles to thereby print desired letters, figures, signs, etc., on a printing paper, characterized in that an electronegative gas containing a fluorine component and not containing any chlorine component is flown into the aperture board to prevent are discharge that would otherwise take place between the anode and aperture board.
Abstract: This invention provides an ink mist type high speed printer comprising a first electrode and a second electrode between which a high voltage is applied, and an aperture board disposed between the first and second electrodes and adapted to selectively control passage of the ions generated from the second electrode, wherein a stream of ink mist is passed between the aperture board and first electrode so that the ions which have passed the aperture board will selectively charge the ink mist particles to let the charged ink mist particles deposit on a recording paper placed between the ink mist and first electrode to thereby print a desired dot matrix character.
