Abstract: A capsule for storing and dispensing dental material. The capsule comprises a cartridge for the dental material, and a nozzle. The nozzle being pivotable with respect to the cartridge between a first position in which the capsule is closed for storage and a second position in which the capsule is opened for dispensing the dental material. One of the nozzle and the cartridge comprises a bearing member and the other one of the nozzle and the cartridge comprises a bearing shell, wherein the bearing member and bearing shell form a pivot. Upon pivoting the nozzle from the first to the second position, the seal between the bearing member and the bearing shell is improved.

Abstract: A device for storing and mixing a plurality of paste components which, when mixed, form a hardenable composition, includes a base plate and a cover. The base plate has an upper planar surface bearing two or more non-self-leveling pastes and adhered thereon in spaced apart areas and. The cover is adhered to the upper surface of the base plate around the pastes and defines a chamber for the pastes. No portion of the cover contacts the pastes. The cover is removably affixed to the base plate, to allow exposure of the pastes for mixing together on the upper surface of the base plate.

Abstract: A container having a container bottom and a container wall defining a chamber, wherein a portion of the container wall comprises at least one compartment for accommodating a component.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for storing and dispensing a flowable substance. The device comprises a container comprising a base member and a cover member being sealingly connected with each other along the circumference of the container, a compartment for receiving the substance, and an open ended pocket area into which the substance is transferable from the compartment, and a cannula having an internal passageway being in fluid communication with the pocket for dispensing the substance.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mixer element for a mixer for producing a paste by mixing components, the mixer comprising a mixing chamber. The mixer element comprises a body portion comprising a longitudinal axis extending from a rear end to a front end of the body portion, mixing vanes or blades provided at the body portion, and closure elements for closing the inlet openings to the mixing chamber. The closure elements are arranged at the rear end of the body portion adjacent to the inlet openings, and provide a paste-tight closure.
Abstract: A container includes, in one embodiment, an outer housing holding a first mass of a first component of a composition, an inner housing holding a second mass of a second component of the composition, and a seal. The first component is a liquid and the mass of the second component conforms to a bottom and side wall of the inner housing. An interference fit exists between the outer housing and the inner housing such that the inner housing seals the first mass within the first chamber. The inner housing has an aperture in a side wall of the second chamber.

Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunication system with a pump laser and an optical amplifier is designed to stabilize the pump laser while preventing back reflections from the pump laser into the optical amplifier. The pump laser emits radiation at a shorter wavelength, while the optical amplifier emits radiation at a longer wavelength. An optical fiber is provided to connect the devices which has an ultraviolet photosensitive core, a low attenuation single mode wavelength region and a very high attenuation, longer wavelength region. The photosensitive core allows a weak Bragg grating to be written into the fiber, to stabilize the pump laser. Apparent fundamental mode cutoff is accomplished with a depressed well design to attenuate the unwanted back reflections from the pump laser into the amplifier. The pump laser is also protected from longer wavelength signal amplifier or signal laser radiation.
Abstract: A GGP fiber is provided which resists strength degradation upon exposure to high temperature/high humidity environments. The fiber comprises a polymeric coating, or P-coat, which is cured with a photoinitiator such as an iodonium methide salt which does not hydrolyze to release HF or fluoride ion.
Abstract: An electronic article surveillance marker is disclosed, including a signal producing layer and a signal blocking layer. The signal producing layer includes flux collection portions joined by magnetic switching sections each having a major axis A, and the signal blocking layer comprises signal blocking elements overlying each flux collection portion. The elements each have at least one boundary that overlies a magnetic switching section and preferably has a tangent T that is not perpendicular to the major axis A of that magnetic switching section. Methods of making the inventive marker are also disclosed.
