Abstract: An automated method and apparatus is provided for the analyzing of data files derived from fluorophore emissions detected during observation of fluorophore labeled nucleotide polymers such as is done during the sequencing of bases in nucleotide polymers. The analysis steps of the method depend upon a key step of quantifying features of the emission peaks whereby subsequent steps as base calling can be performed and whereby individual emission spectra within the data files of two or more samples can be automatically synchronized, compared, and differences detected and signaled. The quantified peak information provides for the use of fuzzy logic and the assignment of truth values or scores to be assigned to the base calls. optimally, individual peaks within the data file are corrected by distortions, the peaks enhanced, and the overall data file information augmented to further improve the accuracy of the analysis of the data and reduce manual labor requirements.
Abstract: Components of a an assembly of operatively related devices for installing a flange cover for a gas valve include a bit especially useful for engaging a corresponding access hole or opening in the face plate portion of a flange cover for transmitting torque thereto for coupling it with a matingly threaded gas valve. The bit end of the bit may have a hole extending axially therethrough and is preferably successively smaller as the end is approached. In one embodiment the bit includes a drive end of a shape differing from the bit end so that a shoulder is formed separating the two ends and providing a stop to prevent the bit from sliding into the hole in which it is engaged. In another embodiment, the drive end is circular with a square recess to accept a drive lug of an appropriate driving tool.
Abstract: A article of footwear for receiving and holding an orthopedic apparatus such as a heel lift or arch support which enables the user of such apparatus to wear it without wearing conventional shoes. The article of footwear has receiving means for receiving and holding an orthopedic apparatus and securing means for securing said article of footwear to about the ankle and heel of the wearer leaving the forefoot and toes unencumbered by the footwear. The article of footwear is preferably formed by sewing together elastic straps.
