Abstract: An improved pipe-moving apparatus is disclosed having a pipe-insertable elongate member which is articulated for ease of use, particularly for pipe laying near trench ends. In a preferred form, the elongate member has a series of at least two carrier members pivotably interconnected end-to-end, with the proximal end of such series of carrier members attached to the controlling mechanism, and structure supporting the carrier members in alignment when the carrier member series is suspended by its proximal end. A highly preferred embodiment accommodates the removable insertion of one or more additional carrier members in the series to extend the length of the elongate member.

Abstract: A control device for use in a dual function machine includes a first disconnecting device for connection between a first operator's control knob and at least one control valve usable for controlling a first function of the machine. A second disconnecting device is provided for connection between a second operator's control knob and at least one second control valve usable for controlling a second function of the machine. The disconnecting devices are arranged for mounting in actuating relationship to a swivel-type operator's seat, the first disconnecting device being actuated for disabling the second function when said seat is in a first position for operating the first function and the second disconnecting device being actuated for disabling the first function when the seat is in a second position for operating the second function.

Abstract: An improved adjustable crimping tool having jaws each with a die wheel, each jaw and die wheel having aligned non-round apertures therethrough, and for each jaw and die wheel an axle through the non-round apertures having axially aligned first and second portions selectively engageable with the non-round apertures, the jaw and die wheel non-rotatable on the first portion and rotatable on the second portion.

Abstract: A water-soluble polymeric fishing lure coating having a odoriferous fish-attractant material dispersed therein. A composition for application onto fishing lures to provide olfactory stimulation of fish includes a volatile solvent, a polymeric material dissolved in the solvent and capable of forming a water-soluble coating, and an fish-attractant material dispersed in the solution. A method for imparting an olfactory stimulus to a fishing lure includes applying such composition onto the lure, preferably by spraying, dipping or brushing, and then exposing the lure to air for volatilization of the solvent.

Abstract: An improved guide apparatus for replicating angles of the type having a main member with a straight edge, a bubble-level device on the main member, and an angle arm pivotably attached to the main member. A slot in an end of the main member receives the angle arm, and a bolt which extends through the main member and the angle arm to form a pivot point has a hand-tightening nut or the like on it for quick angle replication in direct and reverse angle situations without additional tools. In some preferred embodiments the slot extends through the entire main member and/or the opposite surfaces thereof are tapered at the pivot connection to facilitate tightening even though the main member is of substantially rigid construction.

Abstract: An improved electrical brain-contact device for increased accuracy in determining epileptogenic foci. The intracranial device has a dielectric base member and an array of contacts mounted thereon with separate leads extending therefrom, and is characterized by radiopaque dielectric means adjacent to at least one of the contacts such that the positions of the contacts of the array may more readily be determined by x-ray. Certain preferred forms have discrete radiopaque dielectric markers in various arrangements, including sub-arrays of markers corresponding in number and positions to subsets of the contacts.

Abstract: Improved tractor frontal three-point connection apparatus with lower links attached to the front bolster at a pivot axis behind the front panelling of the tractor housing and pivotable to positions behind such panelling, the lower links having rear extensions acted on by lower ends of substantially vertical hydraulic cylinders to pivot the lower links to a substantially vertical orientation, thereby facilitating movement of lower links to inoperative positions over the front axles. Preferred embodiments include a tubular rock shaft rotatably mounted on the front bolster and having rearwardly extending cylinder-attachment lugs, opposite ends removably receiving journals of the lower links, and pocket members at each end receiving and interacting with the rear extensions of the lower links.

Abstract: A device for closing an ignition-enablement switch only if a drive control is in neutral position includes a stop member, a switch mount and a closing member each biased toward its position of engagement with the stop member and movable to positions displaced therefrom, the switch mount having the switch on it such that it is closed by the closing member only when the closing member and switch mount are both in their stop-engaging positions, and an actuator mechanism movable with the drive control between positions displacing the closing member and positions displacing the switch mount, through a position displacing neither. The device may be integrated with the drive control, with major parts pivotable about the control axis. Or the device may be attached to the drive control by a link arm, with major parts pivotable about a separate axis.

Abstract: Improved fishing lure apparatus including a spoon with a mounting hole and a substantially rigid attachment loop extending loosely therethrough. The interengaging portions of the spoon mounting hole and/or attachment loop have non-circular shaping which focuses the engagement of the loop and mounting hole toward the centerpoint of the leading edge of the mounting hole as the lure apparatus is drawn through water. Some embodiments include a gap in the leading edge which allows easy spoon removal. A spindle-mounted tube and clevis dimensioned facilitate connection and disconnection of the spoon and clevis.

Abstract: An improved hand-held sign for sending visual messages aimed at specific persons. The apparatus has a substantially vertical planar member for posting of messages, such as by message cards, a pistol-grip member with a handle portion and a substantially horizontal extension portion, the horizontal portion attached at its distal end to the back of the planar member. A plurality of message cards are preferably kept against the planar member.

Abstract: A condom-holder device including an unextended condom with a gathered annular wall portion, a condom mount for holding the unextended condom, and a device to secure the condom mount to the human body such that the condom may be reached and applied to the male organ with one hand without substantial interruption of activity.

Abstract: A catalytic converter including within the housing a pellet enclosure which is of resilient screen, the enclosure compressing the body of pellets such that the pellets are held firmly in place under tension. The screen enclosure is compressed by the housing to increase tension on the body of pellets. In preferred embodiments the screen enclosure and body of pellets are tubular, with one edge compressed inwardly by a tubular housing. The screen enclosure and body of pellets are preferably tapered.

Abstract: An electrical brain-contact device and device for connecting a plurality of lead wires with individual conductors. The lead wires extend to a terminal mount and to an array of terminals; a conductor support holds an array of the individual conductors; and a connector block with a first space and an array of second spaces serves to join the conductors to the terminals, preferably by a biasing means. The first space receives the terminal mount and the array of second spaces receives the conductor array. The block may be single or have a plurality of sub-blocks attached end-to-end allowing the block to be sized to accept any number of terminals and conductors. Each block or sub-block is preferably a non-conductive one-piece member.

Abstract: Improved fishing lure apparatus having a keel formed of a wire doubled back on itself, from the keel distal end, as first and second wire portions which are together at the keel proximal end, the first wire portion extending from the keel proximal end to form a line-attachment loop and terminating in a first end segment returning from the line-attachment loop and wound around the first and second wire portions at the keel proximal end. The second wire portion may extend from the keel proximal end along the principal axis of the lure to form a spindle to which a spinner spoon is rotatably secured. In certain preferred embodiments, the engagement of the spoon with a clevis or other attachment loop on the spindle is center-balanced for improved controlled spinning.

Abstract: An improved trim-tab control for boats has for each trim tab a yoke movably secured to a frame, a mechanical link between the yoke and the trim tab such that yoke and trim tab move in unison, a lever pivotable mounted with respect to the yoke and having first and second engagement surfaces, and a pair of switches on the yoke positioned for selective engagement with the lever surfaces to actuate a hydraulic device for moving the trim tab in opposite directions. Tab adjustment is carried out by continuing movement of the lever with respect to the yoke, while the yoke moves in response to such adjustment. A scale is secured adjacent to the lever such that the lever position provides visual indication of the trim-tab position.

Abstract: An improved radiation-emitting device of the type for containing gas and an electron flow therein between electrodes. Inner and outer tubular members form an elongated annular envelope volume. The inner tube is radiation-transmissive and the outer tube is preferably radiation-reflective, preferably having metallic inner coating. Fluid passing through the inner tube is irradiated.

Abstract: An improved vertical service door for a tractor engine housing of the vertically-hinged horizontally swingable type. The vertical service door has a lower panel hinged to the lower edge of an upper panel, and means to support the lower panel in a horizontal position when the door is open so that it may serve as a tool tray during engine service. Some preferred embodiments include an inwardly-turned edge forming a vertical retaining edge for the tray and a rod/J-slot linkage between the upper and lower panels to support the lower panel in its horizontal position.

Abstract: An improved compact pilot-assisted pressure relief valve is disclosed. The invention includes a vent piston or the like hydraulically dividing the valve body bore into a hydraulic fluid chamber and a spring chamber which is vented to atmosphere, such that backpressure is eliminated entirely for both faster reaction to pressure impulses and improved accuracy in pre-load setting of the valve assembly.

Abstract: An improved radiation-emitting device of the type for containing gas and an electron flow therein between electrodes. First and second separate elongated principal members form an elongated envelope volume having constant cross-sections along its length. The members are arranged and configured so that the envelope volume is less than that of a cylinder of similar cross-dimension. The inner surface of the second principal member has projecting structures which extend to distal ends adjacent to the first principal member.
