Abstract: Appropriate gray level processing is applied to various image data. A digital camera having a grayscale correction function is provided. An AE control section generates a brightness histogram of a preview image which is obtained by a CCD. An exposure correction amount calculation section, based on the brightness histogram which is generated, sets an exposure value which is under an appropriate exposure value in consideration of grayscale correction to be performed by a grayscale correction section. The grayscale correction section applies grayscale correction to each partial region of image data of an image which is captured. The exposure correction amount calculation section varies the exposure value between when a face is included in a subject and when a face is not included in the subject.
Abstract: In an image capturing apparatus, a hue shift is prevented. A digital camera has a gray level correction function. Image data obtained with a CCD 10 is divided into a plurality of blocks and further has brightness data and color difference data converted in a brightness/color difference conversion section 20. When it is determined, based on the color difference data, that image data includes blue sky image or that chroma of the image data is high, an image processing exposure compensation adjustment/exposure correction amount calculation section 30 sets an underexposure value, which is employed when capturing images with an exposure value being lower than a correct exposure value, to be smaller than a default value to prevent a hue shift caused by gray level correction performed by a gray level correction section 32.
Abstract: An autofocus system is provided for image capture that includes a liquid crystal focus lens which includes a dual range liquid crystal lens with a thinner liquid crystal lens (385) and a thicker liquid crystal lens (365) separated by a single shared electrode (370). Wherein the thinner liquid crystal lens (385) has a smaller optical power and a faster response time and the thicker liquid crystal lens (365) has a larger optical power and a slower response time. The autofocus system has a focusing effect that is produced by the combined optical power of the thinner liquid crystal lens and the thicker liquid crystal lens. A method for focusing an image capture device and an image capture device are also described.
Abstract: A circuit (10) for producing a single output data (DOUT) stream and a corresponding single clock signal (CLKOUT). This circuit comprises an input for receiving a single input data stream (DIN), where the input data stream has data words at a first frequency. This circuit further includes a plurality of clock inputs for receiving a plurality of corresponding clock signals (CLK0, CLK1), where each of the plurality of corresponding clock signals is synchronized to a corresponding plurality of the data words. This circuit still further includes an input for receiving a fast clock signal (CLKF), where the fast clock signal has a fast frequency greater than the first frequency. The circuit also includes various circuitry. This circuitry includes circuitry for sampling (L20, L21) the input data stream at the fast frequency, circuitry for outputting (M, LM) the sampled data as the single output data stream, and circuitry for outputting (CG) the single clock cycle in response to the fast clock signal.
