Abstract: Apparatus and process for treating pork bellies, the apparatus utilizing a frame carrying a belly supporting surface, a belly treating station made up of various belly engaging devices, a comb positionable in the treated belly flank side after the flank side has been engaged at the belly treating assembly, and an accumulation table carried by the frame for holding the treated and combed bellies after removal from the belly treating station. The belly treating assembly includes the flank side movable engaging stop, fatback side and lower side presses movable substantially horizontally to engage and compress the belly flank side, and a hold down assembly engaging the belly face and resisting its upward bowing or movement when the flank side is compressed. A belly hanging structure is positioned adjacent the accumulation table for receiving and supporting the combed bellies so that the bellies will lengthen and square during the smoking process.

Abstract: A quick assembly/disassembly apparatus for splitting casing surfaces and peeling the cases from a string of sausages or the like which includes a trackway along which the sausage chain moves and driving discs that engage the casing covered chain of sausages and moves it along the trackway. A contour follower slitting blade is urged with a preselected amount of pressure against the skin casing of the moving chain of sausages and cuts the casing a precise amount to enable it to be thereafter loosened from the sausage by a stream of compressed air. A limiting pin prevents the slitting blade from displacement from the casing surface when the blade encounters a new casing to be split or other surface irregularities. Compressed air is directed against the split casings to urge the skin casings away from the sausages, and a vacuum assists an additional pair of driving discs to cooperatively engage the slit casings and move the casings to a remote location.

Abstract: A bracket for mounting a drawer guide in a furniture article such as a desk or cabinet has a base provided with opposing retaining flanges on the front of the base for receiving a drawer guide for lateral adjustment and fasteners disposed on the back of the base for supporting the base on a furniture article wall. The fasteners include a positioning portion and a resilient spring leg which is extendable through the wall for releasably securing the base to the furniture article wall.

Abstract: A hosiery garment including at least a leg portion comprising a fabric defined by a ground knitted structure having a plurality of successive courses knitted from a ground yarn and a bare elastomeric yarn laid-in preferably on every course, or alternatively on alternate courses, of the ground knitted structure so as to cross-over the head of sinker loops between selected wales, the ground and elastomeric yarns being such that the ground knitted structure defines the front and rear faces of the fabric and said elastomeric yarn is located in between and spaced from said front and rear faces so as to be shielded from surface contact with an opposing surface when the front or rear surface of the fabric contacts said opposing surface.

Abstract: A method for cleaning a fixture utilized in an electrostatic spray painting process to remove adhered paint particles from the fixture utilizing inductive heating to heat the paint particles to a temperature sufficient to thermally decompose the paint particles to ash and gaseous combustion products. Also disclosed are apparatus for carrying out the method.

Abstract: A lower body garment for covering the legs, hips, waist and midriff of the wearer, formed from a tubular sleeve knit of successive yarn courses which includes a waistband, a midriff encircling portion integrally knit with the waistband and leg portions integrally knit with the midriff encircling portion. The leg portions are formed by slitting the tubular sleeve and joining the slit edges to provide a continuous longitudinal leg enclosing seam extending throughout the leg portions. Cuff portions are integrally knit with the leg portions and are also joined by the continuous longitudinal seam. The garment may be made with or without a lining.

Abstract: A beam homogenizer for converting an incident beam of non-uniform spatial power or energy distribution into an output beam of uniform spatial power or energy distribution. The homogenizer is a holographic optical element constructed from an array of facets or subholograms and positioned at a first plane in the path of an incident signal. The transmittance from each subhologram is uniformly spread across a target at a second plane that is spaced away from the first plane Another optical element, such as a holographic collimation element, may be placed at the second plane to collimate the transmittances thereupon.

Abstract: A hinge with self-closing mechanism includes a hinge arm fastened swivelable to a hinge cup and also includes an elastic element which lies with one end of the elastic element on the hinge arm and disposed outside the hinge cup under the bottom of the hinge cup.

Abstract: A method, and product formed thereby, for cooking meat products to produce an aesthetic surface and retain the natural juices wherein a heat shrinkable packaging material having a simulated net retaining surface appearance is formed around the meat product, and the package and meat product are cooked in a hot water bath to heat shrink the packaging material and create a three dimensional net surface design on the cooked meat product. The heat shrinkable material is thereafter removed, the meat product surface retains the netted surface design, and the meat product retains natural meat product juices.

Abstract: A bracket for mounting a drawer guide supporting a moveable structure for use in a desk or cabinet with sidewalls and a desk or cabinet opening has a body portion with a bottom surface which carries at least one leg upstanding from the bottom surface for engaging a sidewall of the desk or cabinet and with a top surface spaced from the bottom surface which carries means for supporting a drawer guide in predetermined spaced relationship to the sidewall and desk or cabinet opening to enable movement of the moveable structure supported on the drawer guide through the desk or cabinet opening. The drawer guide is supported on the top surface of the body portion by one or more drawer guide mounting screws receivable in one or more mounting holes formed in the body portion top surface. The top surface of the body portion may also include portions defining a wing member engagable by the desk or cabinet opening.

Abstract: A single articulation door hinge includes a base plate and a one-piece hinge arm. The base plate and hinge arm are quickly disconnected by a snap-in locking device to allow easy removal of a door from a cabinet frame, for example. The catch spring includes two substantially parallel sides releasably engageable with the base plate with one side having a catch shank and the other second side having a nose disposed toward one another. The catch spring further includes a scroll spring disposed between the shank and nose, biased toward the nose to engage and secure the catch spring against the hinge arm.

Abstract: A circular knit one-piece garment blank, lower torso garment, and method of making same having a welt portion and a tubular knit body with front, back and side portions. The front portion contains a spot control area wherein bulkier yarns are included to impart an elastic character throughout the area and to impart the characteristics of a foundation garment to the area.
