  • Patent number: 7829465
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of etching features in a substrate. The method comprising the steps of placing the substrate on a substrate support in a vacuum chamber. An alternatingly and repeating process is performed on the substrate until a predetermined trench depth and a predetermined sidewall angle are achieved. One part of the process is a deposition step which is carried out by introducing at least one polymer containing gas into the vacuum chamber. A plasma is ignited from the polymer containing gas which is then used to deposit a polymer on the substrate. The other part of the alternatingly and repeating process is an etching step which is carried out by introducing an etchant containing gas, a polymer containing gas and a scavenger containing gas into the vacuum chamber. A plasma is ignited from the etchant containing gas, the polymer containing gas and the scavenger containing gas which is then used to etch the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7448661
Abstract: Disclosed is a pallet loading and unloading sling, termed a SlingBag device, for efficiently transporting burlap bags and deploying them to secure and protect underwater pipelines. In preferred form, the SlingBag is a T-shaped mat that folds up into a four-sided bag. By using a SlingBag atop a wooden pallet, the process for loading and unloading burlap bags from the pallet may be simplified The SlingBag comprises two rectangular mats that are arranged in a perpendicular cross section, forming a T-shaped mat. When placed upon a pallet for loading, the central panel fits atop the pallet, and the four side flaps extend outward. Burlap bags filled with dry bulk sand or dry sand/cement mix are stacked atop the pallet with the SlingBag. Then, the side flaps are folded up to form a four-sided sling container, and the lifting loops on the side panels are tied in place to secure the sling. In the preferred embodiment, the SlingBag is comprised of polypropylene.

  • Patent number: 7250220
Abstract: An improved component for use in a deposition chamber is constructed from ceramic zirconia and a stabilizing compound. The zirconia is preferably in a partially stabilized form and is coated with a metallic layer such as thermally sprayed aluminum. The surface of the zirconia is roughened to improve adhesion between the zirconia and the aluminum. Alternatively, an intermediate layer may be deposed between the zirconia and the metallic layer to improve the bonding between the layers. The coated zirconia component resists flaking when covered with materials that are being deposited in the deposition chamber and, thus, reduces the likelihood that devices being constructed in the deposition chamber will be contaminated by loose particles.

  • Patent number: 7115520
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for controlling pressure in a vacuum chamber during a time division multiplexed process. A throttle valve is pre-positioned and held for a predetermined period of time. A process gas is introduced into the vacuum chamber during the associated plasma step (deposition or etching) of the silicon wafer. At the end of the predetermined period of time, the process gas continues to flow with the throttle valve being released from the set position. At this point, the throttle valve is regulated through a proportional derivative and integral control for a period that lasts the remaining time of the associated plasma step.

  • Patent number: 7029205
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for pipeline stabilization and shoreline erosion protection, termed a BulkMat device, for protecting and securing pipelines, which are typically located in ditches or on the floor of large bodies of water. In preferred form, the BulkMat comprises a long fabric mat with four to eight fabric compartments sewn onto the mat and filled with dry bulk sand/cement mix. In the preferred embodiment, the BulkMat is comprised of polypropylene. The BulkMat has four lifting loops that are used to pick-up and lower the BulkMat onto the desired location. When the bulk mat is placed on the location, and water sets in, the sand/cement mix in the compartments will harden to concrete. By hardening after it is set in place, the BulkMat will conform completely to the pipeline or covered area to be protected, precisely matching the specific area.

  • Patent number: 6982033
Abstract: The Aerobic Treatment Plant with Filter Pipe (“ATPFP”) processes sewage for buildings not connected to a municipal sewer system. It employs a multi-stage process for cleaning sewage in a single, light-weight, easy-to-install unit. Sewage is initially cleaned in the aerobic tank, which is divided into an inner chamber and an outer chamber by a funnel-shaped clarifier hanging down in the aerobic tank, with the opening in the bottom of the clarifier held above the bottom of the aerobic tank. Air droplines hang down in the outer chamber of the aerobic tank, so that sewage in the outer chamber is aerated, stimulating aerobic microorganisms which digest the sewage. The sewage in the outer chamber then moves into the inner chamber inside the clarifier where gravity separates solids from the effluent. This cleaned effluent is then drained to the post-treatment tank for additional cleaning, where it may be chlorinated before it is filtered to screen out debris and then stored for discharge.
