  • Patent number: 7134861
Abstract: An extrusion nozzle including an outlet port having a single opening with a first region, second region, and a pinched region between the two. The pinched region reduces the dimensions of the extrudate in relation to the dimensions associated with the first and second regions. In that way, the extrudate is joined together but may be easily separated into two separate pieces with dimensions related to the dimensions of the first and second region.

  • Patent number: 7117610
Abstract: The present invention is a tool for scribing tile, including a base member that defines a substantially planar surface, preferably rectangular in design, and more preferably with a small cutout in one end for particular applications. The base member preferably approximates the size of a tile to be laid. The base member is slidably coupled to a series of edge members and center members that are movable with respect to each other as well as the base member. The edge and center members are slidably fastened to the base member, thus permitting the tool to mimic a number of shapes and sizes depending upon the shape and size of tile to be cut.

  • Patent number: 7074401
Abstract: It has now been discovered that certain mutant forms of pro-urokinase (“pro-UK”), such as so-called pro-UK mutant “M5” (Lys300?His), perform in the manner of pro-UK in lysing “bad” blood clots (those clots that occlude blood vessels), while sparing hemostatic fibrin in the so-called “good” blood clots (those clots that seal wounds, e.g., after surgery or other tissue injury). Thus, these pro-UK mutants are excellent and safe thrombolytic agents. These advantages allow them to be used in a variety of new methods, devices, and compositions useful for thrombolysis and treating various cardiovascular disorders in clinical situations where administration of other known thrombolytic agents has been too risky or even contraindicated.

  • Patent number: 7040038
Abstract: An air processing cylinder useful in drying, curing, thermal bonding, cooling, and web transferring materials such as fabrics, papers, and the like. Air is exhausted out of the cylinder surface through a plurality of conduits equipped with distribution means for profiling the flow of air. The drying cylinder further includes a duct network on its outer shell for exhausting air out of one axial area only or, alternatively, the drying cylinder may contain multiple duct networks for exhausting air out of several axial areas, each having its own flow characteristics.
