Abstract: A camper having passive solar climate controls. The camper has a solar structure carried by a base. The solar structure includes a cover, a window panel, a ridge vent, a plurality of awnings, and a plurality of side panels. The ridge vent and the awnings are carried by the cover and the window panel. The window panel and the cover are each pivotally attached to the base such that they are rotated toward the base into a collapsed position and/or away from the base into an extended position. A gable connector secures the cover and the window panel in the extended position. The side panels cooperate with the cover and the window panel to define an interior within the camper. The window panel includes a window and a solar curtain adapted to releasably cover the window. The ridge vent is received by a ventilation opening proximate the gable connector.
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission includes at least one transmitter having two graduated surfaces mounted to provide frictional engagement with a driving cylinder and a driven cylinder. A shifter having two graduated surfaces is axially mounted within the housing. The transmitter is not mounted on a shaft, but is urged into engagement with the driving cylinder and the driven cylinder by two elongated followers. Each follower includes a first end and an opposing second end. Axial movement of the shifter provides simultaneous and opposing movement of the first and second followers to impart pivotal movement of the axis of rotation of the transmitter.
Abstract: An automatic cart wash apparatus. The automatic cart wash apparatus provides improved cleaning of stock carts on a regular basis over manual cleaning by store employees. The automatic cart wash apparatus includes three main stages: a debris removal (vacuum) stage, a cleaning (wash, sanitize, rinse) stage, and a drying stage. The debris removal stage uses forced air and/or suction to remove solid and generally non-soluble waste, such as a paper or other trash and debris, from a stock cart. The cleaning stage uses a selection of detergents, sanitizing agents, and rinse agents to remove soluble or sticky waste, such as food and liquids, and to kill germs, viruses, and bacteria present on the cart. The drying stage removes excess liquids from the cart making it ready for use by the next customer.
Abstract: A method of altering a stimulation level of an animal behavior modification device including the steps of detecting compliant behavior of the animal and reducing a stimulation level an incremental amount between a current stimulation level and a minimum level dependent upon the detecting step.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vibration data collection method and apparatus. The invention includes processes of receiving electrical vibration signals from at least one vibration sensor, digitizing the electrical vibration signals to obtain digitized vibration signals, calculating the average of the digitized vibration signals over a predetermined period, and storing the average in a storage device. The processes above are repeated to provide a history of averages. When vibration data recording is requested, the invention proceeds to check the history of averages to determine if the averages within a time period are substantially equal to one another within a tolerance. If the averages are within the tolerance, the digitized vibration signals are recorded.
Abstract: A protection device is enclosed. The device has a first MOSFET (Q 10), a second MOSFET (Q 11) and a third JFET (Q 12) with their conductive paths in series with the JFET (Q 12) being located between the MOSFETS (Q 10, Q 11). The source of the first MOSFET (Q 10) is connected to the gate of the second MOSFET (Q 11) and the source of the second MOSFET (Q 11) is connected to the gate of the first MOSFET (Q 10). The MOSFETS (Q 10, Q 11) and JFET (Q 12) together form a variable resistance circuit block connectable between an input and an output The gate of the JFET (Q 12) being coupled to the input and the output by respective current sources.
Abstract: A pressure sensor integrated onto an electronic circuit substrate. The pressure sensor measures the effect of the ambient air pressure on a characteristic of the pressure sensor that can be translated into a variable pressure measurement. Another embodiment of the pressure sensor is a pressure switch having a set point that can be configured at, or after, the time of installation of the associated circuit substrate.

Abstract: A system and method for verifying the performance and health of wire systems and end devices, including instruments and processes. A computer runs software that collects data from sampled sensors, stores the data, screens the data for outliers, analyzes the data, performs in situ testing, and generates results of the analysis and testing. The system and method verifies not only the steady state performance of instruments, but also the dynamic performance of instruments and the transient behavior of the processes. In one embodiment, the system performs testing of the wiring system connecting the end devices located at the process. In another embodiment, the system also performs analysis of the amplitude probability density and a power spectral density determined from the sensor, or end device, data. In still another embodiment, the system performs a time domain reflectometry (TDR) analysis for a wiring system connecting an end device.
Abstract: A spectrometer having improved energy resolution by correcting for error introduced by charge carrier trapping. By monitoring the shape of the pulses produced by the detector, a digital filter is adjusted to improve the energy resolution. The adjustment is performed manually by an operator or automatically by an automatic optimizer circuit that modifies the digital filter until the spectral peaks have a width and shape matching the desired characteristics, which are a minimum width and a substantially symmetrical shape. By correcting for the energy loss associated with long rise time events, the charge-trapping correcting spectrometer produces spectral peaks with improved energy resolution.

Abstract: Described is an insulated probe device of adjustable axial length for delivering an electroshock stimulus to an animal. The insulated probe device includes an electrode that is positioned in contact with the animal's skin and is disposed within an electrically non-conductive housing. The housing is a two-part housing, where the two parts cooperate such that the ultimate length of the housing is adjustable. The insulated probe devise includes a mounting device that electrically and mechanically secures the insulated probe device to an electronic animal training device. The mounting device is electrically connected to the electrode by way of a conductor, which is disposed within the housing. The conductor is a metal-rubber substance that conducts electricity like a metal and stretches like rubber such that it is capable of various lengths. Consequently, the ultimate length of the insulated probe device is adjustable.
Abstract: An apparatus for providing conditioned air to a patient while maintaining a low profile over the patient. The therapy blanket has an inflatable portion that includes air channels with a constriction in the area where the blanket covers the torso of the patient; thereby reducing, if not eliminating, bunching of the blanket. The blanket covers the torso and at least one extended arm of a patient.
Abstract: A position sensitive radiation spectrometer for identifying, quantifying, and locating a radioactive source in a target. The position sensitive radiation spectrometer includes an array of gamma-ray detectors arranged along one or more dimensions of a container to be assayed. A known source placed at various calibration positions is used to establish counting efficiencies at various energy levels. From the counting efficiency and the actual count rate, the activity level of an unknown source relative to the calibration positions is calculated. The relative activity levels correlate to the position of unknown source and provide useful information about the actual distribution of radioactive material.
Abstract: A bit block for use in excavation and mining. The bit block is adapted to receive a bit and to be welded to equipment utilized for boring, drilling, trenching and mining. The bit block is designed to secure and protect the bit while it is penetrating rock and hardened earth material. The bit block defines a shroud adapted to receive and protect the distal end of the bit. The bit block defines an enlarged welding surface to enhance the integrity of the weld. The bit block defines a plow on its leading end to assist in removing excavated material.
Abstract: A portable animal containment device for confining an animal to a defined area. The portable animal containment device includes a flat and a correction unit. The flat is adapted to be portable and defines the area within which an animal is confined. The flat has an associated presence detector for detecting whether the animal is occupying the flat. When the presence detector indicates that the animal is not occupying the flat, a signal is transmitted to the correction unit by way of wireless communication. The correction unit is carried by the animal and administers a stimulus to the animal when the correction unit receives the signal from the transmitter. Consequently, when the animal moves beyond the boundary defined by the flat, it receives a stimulus, which encourages the animal to remain in the flat.

Abstract: A housing (10) for a pet accessory, and an associated collar mounting system for mounting the housing (10) on a pet collar (12).
