  • Patent number: 6223727
Abstract: In an electromagnetic fuel injection valve, a fitting surface of a valve housing, over which a seal positioning ring is fitted, is formed of a diameter smaller than that of an annular sealing surface over which a seal member is fitted. A tapered surface is provided between the fitting surface and the sealing surface, and a resilient projection is formed on the seal positioning ring, so that the projection is in pressure contact with the tapered surface in a state in which the seal positioning ring has been fitted over the fitting surface. Thus, the seal positioning ring can be retained easily and precisely in a regular position on the outer peripheral surface of the valve housing by a reaction force provided by the resilient projection and hence, no post-treatment is required.

  • Patent number: 6223808
Abstract: An annular-shaped heat exchanger 2 provided with a high-temperature fluid passage inlet 11 at one end in the axial direction and a low-temperature fluid passage inlet 15 at the other end in the axial direction is supported inside a cylindrical outer casing 9 via a heat exchanger supporting ring 36. The heat exchanger supporting ring 36 connecting a low-temperature section near the low temperature fluid passage inlet 15 of the heat exchanger 2 and a rear flange 33 of the outer casing 9 is formed by bending a plate member in a cross-sectionally step shape so that it can readily undergo elastic deformation to offset the thermal expansion of the heat exchanger 2. This ensures positive sealing between the high-temperature fluid passage inlet 11 and the low-temperature fluid passage inlet 15 of the heat exchanger 2 while minimizing the thermal stress occurring in the heat exchanger 2 and the outer casing 9.

  • Patent number: 6226245
Abstract: A reading device is provided for reading information recorded on an optical disc. A relative displacement between the reading device and the optical disc is detected. The relative displacement is caused by rotating the disc at a speed higher than an ordinary speed. A maximum rotating speed of the optical disc at the time when the displacement reaches a predetermined value is detected. The optical disc is rotated at an angular velocity which does not exceed the maximum rotating speed.

  • Patent number: 6225979
Abstract: When a CPU of a computer in which a cursor display apparatus is incorporated reads out the position of a cursor in a display which is input through an input operation unit, determination is made whether the read out cursor position is inside or outside a stereoscopic image display region of the display. When the read cursor position is within the stereoscopic image display region, bit map image data for two cursors is displayed according to the read cursor position. When the read cursor position is outside the stereoscopic image display region, one cursor is displayed by the OS of the computer according to the read cursor position. Therefore, in a display including a stereoscopic image display region and a plane image display region, a cursor can be displayed in a manner switched between a stereoscopic image and a plane image according to the display region.

  • Patent number: 6225842
Abstract: A control device having a forced operation function has an output circuit that operates in response to an output control signal generated within the control device and a terminal for feeding a signal from the output circuit to outside the control device. The control device further has a signal detection circuit that outputs a forced operation signal when a predetermined signal is fed from the outside to that terminal. The output control signal generated within the control device and the forced operation signal produced by the signal detection circuit are fed through an OR circuit to the output circuit. This circuit configuration makes it possible to reduce the number of terminals to be provided in a control device having a forced operation function and thereby reduce its costs.

  • Patent number: 6226042
Abstract: A color encoder is incorporated in an apparatus for reproducing a signal recorded on a disk for a video-CD, CD-G, or similar system. The color encoder serves as an interface between such an apparatus and a television receiver. The color encoder converts R, G, and B signals reproduced from a disk into a color television signal. The color encoder is provided with a circuit for generating a blanking interval control signal that is used to switch between blanking intervals of different duration in accordance with a select signal, so that the duration of the time interval during which video signals are suppressed can be selectively varied. The color encoder has, in the input paths for the R, G, and B signals, switches for enabling and disabling the passage of those signals, and these switches are controlled by the blanking control signal.
